Congratulations. Welcome to the club. Great car, great color!
Just bought 10200. The car needs little at the moment but I would like to locate a parts book and service manual. Any hints where something can be located? Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh cool! Welcome to ownership. They are very unique cars. Where did it come from? What do you know about its history?
Esprits1196: My memory is not that good after almost three months, but the things that stick out were primarily incorrect finishes in the engine compartment and the interior. Car was pretty complete and presented very nicely. Somebody got a good deal.
I bought the car in Florida from Motorcar Gallery after a roughly 2 year search for an Espada. I never expected a Jarama, too rare, just stumbled on it and glad I did. The car is quite good overall, has basically all records since new, has had a ton of recentish work. Needs some heating and AC work, a little electrical repair, slightly sticking brake booster repair, etc. Kind of expected stuff for a car its age.
It was sold by Roy Cats some years ago... and if I'm right it was belonging to a friend of mine in US.
Correct. Cats Exotics sold the car a little over a year ago. It's bounced through a couple dealers since.
Maybe the wrong forum but...I'm looking for the best source for Jarama parts generally and booster rebuild kits specifically. Any help appreciated.
FWIW, I decided to toss aside the original boosters and replaced with something much more modern, reliable, and safer. Ebay Jacques at Maserati Source. He is in the process of move CA to the east coast. Chad Bolles has some. Olivier has lots of leads on parts. A lot of Espada stuff is the same.
I emailed Maserati Source with no response; the fact he's moving I suppose explains it. I'll try your other recommendations as well. What's the modern upgrade you mention? I've read a little but not seen specifics. Thanks John
John, Chad Bolles currently has my car. He came up with the boosters and some other stuff as well. I would contact him, mention I suggested calling. And, since the car is there, you can pick his brain. I had a complete top end rebuild. Internal parts coming from Maserati Source...valves, water pump etc Since it had a Chevy muffler on I went with a muffler delete (as seen on Olivier's car) Not only carb rebuilding but sent out for special cleaning. Distributor rebuild by Wil Degroot at Exoticars-USA. Headlight motor Some wiring Drivers window. All slaves and masters and calipers Maybe some other stuff but it's been there a while, I can't remember! Maybe Chad will chime in on it.
Hi John, we have an old shop in Belgium which makes repairs. But they don't have kit to be shipped. Back in 2007, mine were repaired, but I was not satisfied and I finally bought new pair of boosters, that made a huge difference !
