What would be the worst for you. vettel winning another WDC next year or the new V6 Turbo engines. personally I think vettel winning another WDC i'm pretty done with the finger guy.

Neither. If the other teams dont get it right its not anyone's fault but their own. The technology is rather amazing behind the new power-plants. Im looking forward to the entire change; power, team lineups etc and Austria!

Well Redbull have set the bar high, like D says, the others have to match and beat them, what more can I say.

I don't like domination at all, but we all have our favorites we want to see win and it can be very frustrating watching but you have to give credit where credit is due.

As for the question, as long as all the teams have a level playing field neither option is worse.

    V6 Turbo by far.

I'd take Merc/Hamilton being champions for the next 4 seasons over V6 as of now. Indy car sounds terrible, and the dyno runs I've heard are not much better.

Yeah, I'd trade the V6's in for V10's and hamilton can be champion for 4 season with Merc for all I care.

    I love both.

Would prefer Alonso getting the title but if that's not an option I'm ok with VETTEL.

As for the turbos: I can't wait!

    What would turn me off:
    - Diesel engines
    - covered wheels
    - closed cockpits

No wonder I'm not an Audi fan :)

    Good chance.

BTW: I like Le Mans racing. Just don't turn F1 into it.

I don't love turbos, but I'm willing to give them a chance. I don't care if Vettel wins another one, I'd just like to see him have some competition. It's a lot more fun when the championship goes down to the wire.

If you live long enough, you may see these 3 option appear in F1!

Let's face it, from the safety point of view, closed cockpit is the only way to protect the driver.

Also, maintaining open-wheel racing at all cost "because it has always been so", is just an unwanted anachronism nowadays.

The rule makers should be more daring and accept that covered wheels AND enclosed cockpits increase safety and are the future in motorsport.

As for Diesels, they should be accepted in an equivalence formula taking into account the energy used, and NOT how it is delivered, or where it comes from: turbine, electric, steam and various internal combustion (4 and 2 stroke, diesels) competing together, only limited by calorific values.

At which point it ceases to be F1 but just another form of Group C.

And the time I would quit following the sport.

    Yeah, maybe...

It's just like air racing stopped attracting the crowds when the jet engines came.
Only historical air racing is of some interest to the purists.

People still go to Reno, or other places, to see WWII props aircraft racing at 500mph, but I doubt if a contest between the latest jet fighters at Mach 2 would be worth watching!

I suppose that in time F1 will die of natural death when it will become too technical and too safe. Now, it's a designers' championship. The fact that drivers became allowed to come off the track and resume racing was a turning point for me. The risk element is gone.

I enjoy watching historical racing more and more at the expense of Bernie's "sanitised" show. I couldn't imagine paying to attend a GP now, but I travel to Silverstone, Spa and other places to see 60s and 70s cars racing. That's something I can relate to ...

I get that and at some point I might do the same.

Right now I'm doing both: Current F1 and historic GPs. The only problem I have with historic F1 cars is that the drivers are mostly nobodys.

There's no worse sounding engine than a V6 IMO; just listen to the Indy cars if you want to get depressed < he he>. They should at least made them H6 (I-6 would be too long), which sounds immensely better, plus with a lower CG. Oh well. And Vettel now is the EX-finger guy :D. Now he's the first guy.

H6 engine? Can you tell me how that works?

    I have heard of H4, H8 and H16, but never of H6.

    Porsche aren't H6 engines, but flat-6!

The only H4 engine was on a Brough motorcycle.

The only H16 engines I know were the doomed BRM H16 F1, and the Napier Sabre aero-engine.

H-engines mean two flat-engines geared together.

It's funny. One German dominates F-1 for Ferrari
and he is given god-like status even after he becomes
    employed by Mercedes-Benz.

Another German wins four World Championships in
a row and is on schedule to break all of the records
in near record time and he can't get so much as an
    atta boy.

    Where is the disconnect?

Correction, the Napier Sabre was a H-24 !!

We don't see many of them...

As for the BRM H-16, it won a GP with Jim Clark.

I don't know. Silly fan boys I suppose.

History will tell a different story, particularly if Seb goes on to win more.

    A flat 6 is the same thing as a horizontally-opposed 6, or H6.
