    I read recently that the 355s will be fetching $125K (non-beaters ~ low mileage) in the next five years. Any thoughts or opinions on this? I know there is a cycle when new models come out, they depreciate to a point then hopefully begin to escalate, unless its one of the those hideous ugly models (no names or number mentioned here) Interested in anyone's and everyone's opinions...

    I think the general consensus is about a 30-year cycle before they become classics. So it's quite a little bit away...

    Some cars never really take off so people say buy what you love.

    However, to some credit -- the F355 seems to have bottomed out recently.

    prices of 355's in the UK havent really changed much in the last 8 years, good ones are still £40k +, but I have noticed a few very low mileage ones actually selling in the £60k+ bracket,

    I think long term they will be worth something but it will be a long way away, just too many of them around still, although good low mileage ones are getting rarer and with new ferrari prices heading into the £200k+ region then that will push up the value of older cars as entry into the F brand becomes more exclusive,

    just my tuppence worth !

    10 spiders for sale for every one B or GTS. I would think Bs and GTS' are on the uptick. Spiders still a dime a dozen. JMO

    I have watched this market closely (and also owned a GTS). The market hasnt moved in a couple of years. GTS and GTB cars are still hard to find and early years in the right condition sell in the 70's. Spiders trade all the time in the 40's and low 50's.

    No, prices are not currently moving up or down. They have been in the same range for several years and that shouldn't change in coming years. 5 years out plus is unknown. Doesn't really matter to me as mine will be a very high mileage example in the future.

    Very debated topic....

    Value is all relative to what the buyer will pay. But, let's face it, low milage, pristine cars command the highest prices and as time goes on those will become more scarce. Time of year also seems to effect the market prices.

    I feel I got a great car for a fair price and since I don't plan to ever sell, I'm ok with whatever happens

    It looks like more are being bought by enthusiasts vs. those buyimg as a stepping stone to a 360 or 430, especially the gts and gtb cars. This will probably mean less available in the market and less with low miles overall as the enthusiasts tend to value driving more than looking. I'd expect this to drive values up a bit on the low mileage cars, but of little consequence to the owners that drive their cars.

    I would say that this is the window to buy and there are already significantly less cars to choose from than when I bought two years ago, so where I believe I bought at the start of that low price window, we may be seeing it start to close. At the very least, it may take longer to find the car you want if you're after a particular color combo (except red). I'm glad I got in when I did, that's for sure.

    I agree. Enthusiasts are leading the way to higher 355 prices by buying up the few GTS and GTB examples that come on the market. Then the speculators, who favor Spiders, will enter and drive prices further up.

    Personally, I think the 355 will beat the usual 30 year curve by a lot, more like the 20 year curve of the Dino.

    The high number of 360s made are beginning to flood the market so I predict the 355 will be worth more than the 360 in the next 5-10 years.

    The 348/355 really marked the end of an era in the way that Ferrari produced, marketed and sold cars but it's too recent to label it as "nostalgic" but it's coming...

    True. Economic health, particularly the SP 500 and other indicators of how much discretionary funds the wealthy have to spend on toys, will be very important to 355 prices, and the resale value of my boat, for that matter.

    I'm a happy new owner of a 1995 Berlinetta. I will be picking her up next week. My original offer of $56,777 was refused, then I got the same car on ebay for $52,100. Go figure. I'll be having fun regardless of which way the value goes!

    I think we are at the bottom of the depreciation curve, however, I doubt we will see large movement in the prices due to a number of factors. First, the 355 was a fairly large production run by Ferrari standards. Second, the model is seen as being somewhat of a nightmare from a maintenance cost standpoint (as unfair as that characterization may be). Finally, while the car is beautiful on the outside, the inside feels very 1980's and lacks that visual impact of other models that weren't stuffed with airbags previously.

    There is a lot to appreciate on the F355, but I don't see it as being enough to offset those three above mentioned problems. I don't think the F1 cars will appreciate, despite them being the first paddle shift ferrari's. I doubt that the spiders will appreciate as much as the hardtop variants. The soundtrack of this car is nothing short of amazing. The technology in much of the car is impressive.

    Thankfully, I do not care if the value goes up. I plan to drive the wheels off mine... which means that it will likely become a parts car one day... 30 or 40 years from now after I can no longer wrench on it myself. I was fortunate enough to get my F355 under $50k, but I am paying the price for getting in cheap... So, hindsight being 20/20, I should have spent more time and money on the search. I am not unhappy with my F355, I knew I was getting a car with spotty documentation, but that means more wrenching for me!

    Here in the UK you will need £50k plus to bag yourself a good FFSH low mileage car. I know of at least 5 people who are looking for good 355s to tuck away!

    As bad as I want one and hope the price does not rise much, I think I will get my wish I can't see them jumping like dino's that car started the 3 series that much of the v8's come from. 360 and 430 are going to dip sooner or later as they make more models in the v8 model range. And a 430 stick or 360 stradale would be my option over a f355 if the prices rise to high , I really don't see people jumping at f355's that are gonna need work lots of work with high miles Over 360 or 430 but I guess we all are gonna have to wait and see time will tell.

    360/430's which are much better cars, continue to drop in price. They soon will be 355 money. Not too many people I know are going to pay for the maintenance on a 355 and get half the performance. 360 maintenance is ford cheap compaired to a 355.

    Looks are subjective, but cost of ownership will rule out the 355 when you park both side by side with the same price tag.

    In the US, we have seen a pretty strong economic recovery lately, at least as measured by the stock market indices. In related news, 360 prices have risen and apparently 355s are also firming up. No real surprise there.

    However, I do think the 355 will be looked back upon favorably. It is a stunner and has unique styling from 348's and 360's.

    125k in 5 years? That's crystal ball foolishness.

    Every market outside the US disagrees with this assessment.
    355s are already more expensive than 360s so obviously a lot of people are happy to pay a premium for them and are not buying the "maintenance nightmare" routine.
    I doubt that they will ever routinely be the same money as F430s though. The 430 is a huge leap forward in performance, if not looks. The 360 is not.

    Having said that, in the UK there is not much difference, with many F430s being in the 60-75k range and very good 355s only a few k behind. F360 are generally in the £45k price bracket.

    Not shown below is a 7000 mile 355GTB with an asking price of £75k. Well into F430 territory.

    Motorcars Intl. just listed a 98 F1 GTS for 72.5k with the last major in 07.

    Yes. The market is shifting, although I'm sure some will continue to disagree.

    Didn't the USA market receive the most 355's? Could just just be a supply and demand thing over here. 355's are cheap. 45-55 will bag you a nice one. Heck I should buy a couple and send them your way. I could double my money!! I'll leave the service to you guys. Seeing as it's cheap over there to service them compaired to over here.
