Will the door lock assembly work from a 355? Has anyone tried it? Also, what is the difference between the 2 and the difference from spider to ts or b? In the diagram, they look the same. There is a major difference in price though! I just need the mechanical part on the passenger side.

Yeah, I've seen that part. Mine is missing a pin inside that connects the locking function. I've got it rigged right now but want to fix it permanently at some point.

You have those parts there don't you? Maybe you could compare them and see. Your site shows PN# 62109300 at $1667 and PN# 62109700 at $395. That is quite a difference! I've seen other sites offer them as the same component. Just want to verify if it is or not. From pic, they look the same.

I have an old thread on this too. I used an interior plastic snap from say a Honda & melted the end. It's a stop gap measure. I did find a whole new mechanism cheap on fleabay. But since the Rube Goldberg hasn't failed, I'm in no rush to take apart the door again.

Hey Clyde, thanks for the response. I saw that thread and actually asked what you did to fix it some time ago. That is exactly my problem. Did you take any pics or can you tell me a part number that you used to repair it. I used a small screw and nut but recently the nut backed off and the whole system jammed. so, decided to fix it properly. but if your fix worked, I'd love to try it as well.

    I thought I had a pic, but I can't find it. Though it wasn't a patch I was proud of :(

I figured a nut would back off. I couldn't get a lynch pin or other similar fastener to slip in that tight spot. So I used a part like below, & melted the end with a soldering iron so it wouldn't back off. It seems to have held.

I got ya! thanks for the pic. When I put it together this time, I put some threadlock on it, so, maybe it will hold this time. Time will tell.

As you can see in the picture, I circled it to simplify. The way it's done originally is about the same, they used a pin in the middle. I add a hex wrench so it could be locked into place. This thing should never pop out! I was using a screw with a nut on the back, it would back out or get jammed and couldn't unlock the door. So, it cost maybe 3 bucks total and should be permanent.

If it does come out, the door would unlock without the key. the power locks and the manual pull no longer operate. Just sharing what I found out with the brotherhood, so if this ever happen to your car, there is a way to fix it without replacing it. The cheapest I could find one for a 348 was $400.00 used and $1600.00 new!! Time to celebrate with a martini! :)

Just a correction, it will not unlock without the key!
