Like the guy who cleaned up after the elephants in the circus. He complained so much that eventually he was asked why he didn't quit. "What, give up show biz?"
Oh, I do hope so!.... Get the **** out of here and slam him somewhere else! He's saying he's much more relaxed and is ready to lead a team. He (and it's sounding like Rob also) bring a vast amount of experience to the gig - Something Frank hasn't had in a while. He may not be a Fred or MerHam in outright pace, but neither is he as useless as many would like to believe. I'd love to see 'em do a decent car, and he gets his mojo back. He does know how it all works after this length of time. I for one certainly wish him all the best. Cheers, Ian
When you conduct it as a business, you pack up when no profit is made. When you do motor racing for love, you lose money. I hope Frank Williams doesn't drive his team to bankruptcy like Tom Walkinshaw or Alain Prost did.
Why didn't frank sell to bmw maybe someone didn't what bmw to vote a certain way . Frank knows that someone will always be there when he needs them .3 mouth ago I said that ross would buy Williams and get the loan from Andy Warhol .
Other than the fact that Warhol died in 1987, this post is wonderfully lucid and sensible. Warhol would have had the best painted cars on the grid
The F1 business model is a peculiar one. Vast expenses for all and huge subsidies for the successful ones. Under the table payments for the favored few. Vast input of funds by egotists. Ex-grease monkeys made fabulously wealthy. All presided over by an ancient ex-used car flogger with a vision.
Thats a kind of cool description. Pretty much my understanding too...... Gotta love it, huh? Indeed. But, I'm not sure even he knew what it would become. Sure, as Prof Sid noted, he's *always* at least a step or two ahead, but I don't think he started out expecting to become one of the worlds wealthiest dudes. In other words, I think he saw some potential, unlike the others, but I suspect even he has been surprised by the $ coming his way on occasion. (?) Cheers, Ian
Will he be Frank Williams' personal chauffeur? Surely he will not drive one of the race cars with his speed, or lack thereof
Lol At least in a Williams he has a believable excuse that the was slow. Unless of course his teammate beats him again by 30 seconds per race
