The recent thread about the 250MM reminded me of these pictures of this fantastic car from when it was for
sale last year. Taken from Mr Kidston's site at the time, I hope he doesn't mind my posting them here.

This to me is the most wonderful Ferrari of all time, not sure of it's chassis number or history, I just know
that it's beautiful, and as for that interior, there are no words to describe how incredible it is!

I had it repainted in this color ( it was previously red, and before white and before French blue..but kept the interior as it was, well with a little bit of TLC ) identified on a color picture that Pierre Noblet , famous French driver who owned and raced this car in the fifties and was 2nd in Le Mans as well in sixties on GTO I think, provided me. Actually I send Cremonini, the bodyshop in Italy to Lille to meet Pierre and family, son Gregory, a good friend , is also a classic car racer, saw him last in Castellet 10,000 tours.
Drove the car in MM too, very nice car and engine very sweet and powerful.
As I had at the same time SWB and MM and drove them back to back , I can say the MM is a very safe and rewarding car, much easier to drive that people think, but we worked a lot to properly set up the car with my mechanic. This included putting the car back on 16 inches wheels,,as it was previously on wrong 15 inches that a lot of people use as they allow a wider choice of tires, but they are obviously wrong and look wrong.

Thank you so much for sharing the infomation, you were a very lucky man to have been a custodian of such a car.
A real tribute to you for the colour choice and for preserving that fantastic interior!

I can only hope that this great car comes now to a rest with a serious collector who will keep and enjoy it for more than some months or a year.....

Such cars don't need to rest, they need to be driven! I remember driving it from Parma to Gstaad , roughly 600 miles in same day, by myself, via the San gottardo with a snow storm on the north side, being pursued by trucks who thought I was driving too slowly ( but without snow tires , it was in April, did not want to spin!).

Correct! But with coming to rest I did not mean that the car has to become static...!
It deserves a serious owner who keeps and enjoys it for more than some months or a year rather than treat it like an investment only and handing it over to the next one, then the next one etc., etc.

All serious collectors like provenance. Long ownership-provenance is also much appreciated by serious, passionate collectors and - if we speak money wise- makes a car a little bit more valuable (see the 257-Spider NART-result in PB last August).

This is not provenance, this is fetishism!
Everyone would like a one owner, possibly 90 years old widow' s car, but of course in impeccable condition and serviced yesterday...
So long a car had bone fide owners that took care of if , and did not made any changes to originality, you can consider those short term owners as a chain of brokers. Some of them did not even register the car in their name. Do you care that a car was offered to you via 5 brokers ( as they are most of the time,) not because of price but impact on condition?

Walter, to keep you happy I believe it is now with a long term owner!! Saying that he bought the car for very strong money at the time but now even that looks cheap and in some arena's it may have doubled in value since. Any regardless if the intention is to keep a car long term it's hard not to consider the upside on an asset if it's double in such a short space of time.

I hope he keeps it forever, just for you!!

I take that back actually. I hope he calls and consigns it to me for sale as that what I am in the business of doing after all.

You are correct'just plain awesome" The oldest picture of the interior I have is from the December 1998 Brooks auction. The seats don't seem to have changed much. Can we say they are original? At least the 1998 interior, if not original, looks of the original. Is engine 0340MM still in the car?I gather engine #0310 went to another s/n. tongascrew

Fantastic choice P. It is a marvelous car indeed. Everytime I see it I like it more and more. I remember when Simon was offering the car. I was less educated at the time and didn't value a 250MM as I should have. Would have been a fantastic buy then too.
Have a splendid weekend & I look forward to our meeting one day soon. Edmond

Although a bit dated now, I always thought that this was one of PF's best designs. Here's a pic of Marshall Lieb's 0340M, taken at Sal DiNatale's shop in 1966, when it was just another Ferrari, driven like the rest of 'em. In the shop on that day were the Maser (mine), my ATS, , my 250GT Cab. 3093GT, somebody's 250GTO, Marty Siedentop's 212 Vignale 0223EL, Lyle Tanner's 250GT Speciale 0407GT, etc. They all got driven regularly. Different times.

Thanks for sharing! I really love the 250MM, dare I say that to me I even prefer its muscular look to the more aerodynamic GTO.

    Dear Ed,

Do you have more pictures of 0340MM at Di Natale's shop?
Or this is the only one?
    Thanks.
    Regards.

Sorry, but I don't think I have any more. Just happened to have a camera with me while riding herd on Sal that day. With three cars in his shop I'm sure a bank loan was coming due soon!

I think I have seen another one, from memory, a larger angle where we see few other cars too, but don't know where, maybe on this forum on another thread.
