I can't believe I'm even typing this with how long I have been in love with Ferrari. 16k in 20 months and I'm debating the move. Question is, after the 30k, shock rebuild, new motor mounts, fabspeed headers, and new ac. Do I just ride it out. Another 10k in 12 months will be too much. Sat in a 997 tt and it was nice but didn't turn me on like the F355 does. Its like the gorgous gf that rocks your world but then has a an emotional melt down a week later. She gets you all worked up and your living at the top of the world while your in her then the credit card bill comes for how much she spent at The Forum Shops at Ceasers Palace. I'm driving 5k a year and not abusing her. I'm scared to marry this one but I can not immagine anything else getting my heart racing quite like the 355 does. Ideas?

The only other major items are the valve guides and throwout bearing, have they been done?

Sounds like you have taken care of some of the expensive stuff for the time to come. Why not enjoy it now that you have put so much into it to get it (more) reliable? What is left to sort on it?

I've done the throw out bearing and no valve guide issues so far. Bought at Scottsdale Ferrari with 27k and two and a half years through the previous major.

Run it, service it, repeat. If you have driven it that much and don't have the Valve guide issues it unlikely that you ever will, beyond that there is nothing more to break the bank.

I'm sure there is a ton of info on it, but just for practice sake, how would one know if they do have a valve guide issue? Car has always ran tip top. Loves those high revs even more it seems.

Leak down and compression test. Are you going thru oil? That would tell you something.

Like others said, you've probably gone thru all that can go wrong, for a while anyway.

I've sat in my F355 Spider a couple times and thought about what else I could buy. I can't come up with anything that feels half as special for the same amount of money (except for another Ferrari of course). I was planning to sell the 355 and my 2003 Boxster S and buy a 997 TT or a 997.2 non-turbo, but I just can't let the 355 go.

Treat her like the whore she is, and she will love you for it. Treat her like a princess and she will eat your lunch. Now that you've give her all the attention, now it's time to use her for what she's best at.

After 8 years with a 355 I moved on to a 997.2 Carrera S. It took a long time to appreciate the Pcar but now I'm glad I made the move. I spent more money servicing the 355 in the last few years than it cost to buy the 911, and it hasn't had a single problem. There aren't any known or common issues with them as far as I can tell, which is a nice change. I'd like another 355 of course, but only when I get to the point where $15k services don't bother me.

The F355 has more raw sex appeal than any other car I can afford to get into. I got to stay the course. Its just a matter of money. Either spend less or make more. Just got to make more I guess. Neither of these redheads are inexpensive to maintain!! Both sound great too!
