Did you try a search on navigation int this section ? it feels like the sort of thing that if it didn't work would have threads
I think it was just discussed in some length in the California section? (I am assuming the 458 and cali share the NAV?)
I tried it & got 125 other hits including this......... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia-sponsored-vivid-racing/407040-nav-system-worth.html
Mine's pretty hopeless, often taking me the long way, but I'm not sure if the unit is to blame or the maps which are third party. But hey I didn't buy the car for a great satnav experience.
IMO is it worth it? Yes. I have a several year old Garmin that still works great, and I had an Escalade and now a GMC Yukon. And yes, sometimes they will lead you in a longer route but most of the time not. Why would I get it in the 458? Because, I can push a button on the back of the steering wheel and then enter all the information by voice command. No stopping to enter new destinations is great, just keep driving and answer the questions. It has told me exactly where to turn, and shown an arrow pointing the way, and though the screen is small you rarely actually need to look at it.
Exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. 458 white with black roof and diamond stitched white interior due in December Thank you. Eric
This is exactly how I feel. Its good. Its not the best but its also not the worst as some say. Its nice to have.
I like the nav system in my 458. Input is fairly easy (particularly once your learn the voice command system), it is fairly easy to see, the instructions are clear, and the integration with traffic from the sat system works very well and has saved me a lot of time.
