    A small topic detour;

    can the D80 use old Nikkor lenses?

    Old, like from a Nikkormat from the 70's...

    That depends on what you mean. I think that, like AI lenses, the old pre-AI lenses will attach to the D80, but they will not couple to the exposure meter.

    One of the reasons that I switched from the D80 to the D7000 was that my old AI lenses will work with the exposure meter on the D7000, but the pre-AI lenses (the ones that require engaging with the pin on the camera) will not interface with the meter.
