My New Dino.

It would be my guess that the running light lenses had to be changed to the amber UK specs when it was imported there.

The plate looks like the one I made when I took my radio out. Just a simple shape anyone could make. If the plate looks like it covers a hole for an antenna the car probably had a radio-- almost all cars did.

Nice car-- I hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine. My 2840 was also delivered to Italy.

 

Just when you think you have got used to how pretty a 246 looks there comes along a picture (rear view of this car on a trailer in the woodland sun) that reminds you all over again....

Well Yesterday I brought the car home finally. My friend Has and myself drove a Gullwing over to the island and brought the Dino back. The car had been at Rudi and Company to have a complete Mechanical go through. It needed a lot after sitting for 25 years. The car ran great. A bit hard driving without a side view mirror. All and all it felt great. But I noticed a bunch of stuff I need to do to the car.

The car needs:

Vent window latches (glue on type)
Door window winder Clips to hold on the crank handle.
The heater isn't working.
Need one tail light trim ring (its there but raw brass)
Side view mirror.

Any ideas to where to get?

1) Door latches are available as repros from the usual suspects

2) Not sure, both of mine have electric windows

3) Check the cable connection; at the dash and at the heater box. Alternatively, manually activate the heater valve and put your hand on the heater box to see if it gets warm

4) Re-chrome your trim ring.

5) There was no passenger side mirror, but re-pro of the originals are also found

Heater - most likely a airlock and a real PITA to get out. Try venting through the top hose.

 

I'd check the heater valve/cable controls first, and THEN move on to hunt for an airlock, NOT because I think Tony's wrong - but simply because the valve and cable are usually the easiest to check first.
