I have a VW Bus that is in decent shape but I'd like to find a shop to build a higher performance engine (maybe a Porsche swap), highway flyer gearbox, lower the suspension, etc. I'm having a hard time finding a shop that specializes in VW's and modifications like this. I assume in SoCal there must be quite a few but I'm struggling to find one.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

I restored this 56 rag top..... was my first resto... learned a ton!!

    LOST a ton $$!! LOL

get a Hot VW mag... lots of places here in so cal...

cheapest way is to sub all the parts of resto out... if you just have one company do it.. you will be paying a premium. But if $$ is not an issue..and you just want to drop off and pick her up..

if you need any help feel free to PM me will give you, MOTOR guy... interior guy.... etc..

Very good info, thanks for the reco! I've got a '69 Ghia convertible still waiting to be all done-up. Over the last 20 years everyone wanted to buy it off me for $2k and now it's suddenly jumped up to $6k. If I could just settle on a color I just might finally get it done.

Just picked up a '37 Plymouth PT-50 over the weekend

    Hi Monte,

Hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving !!

The pic is of a Chico built 2 ltr plant that was in my 70 Ghia.
He's a super guy who truly backs up his work on early Type 2 or later pancake engines.

Cheers, Hank - - BTW, I love da Bus !!!
