I really liked your post. Not to mention your car. You did a great job. I love the tractor sitting next to the Ferrari.
Thank you Tom, much appreciated. I like your car also, but I like them all Here is another thread: (pardon the hijack) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355/402128-my-interior-adventure.html
I applied it to my dad's 612 over the summer. Car looks fantastic, especially out in the sun. Here are some (low quality) iPhone pics: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is this product sold by the can, or gallon, or ? Where can it be purchased? Your cars look great, but how would it work on paint that's 28 years old, like mine.
Bill, Product / purchasing information can be found here: 22PLE We ship out of Ohio, so you would receive it in just a day. It looks great on all paints, old and new. It's preferred to polish the car first to bring out its true color and gloss, but its not a necessity. Let us know if you have any questions!

If paint is corrected and than this coating is applied - when you re-wash assuming by hand will the swirls re-appear? or does this actually protect the paint from them re-appearing?
I think it all depends on technique. I have had my paint corrected and the 22 PLE applied by Todd @ Esoteric. I go to great lengths while hand washing my car (a weekly affair for me, just about, during the driving seasons) and use the method that Todd has outlined on the internet. I use two buckets, multiple mitts, a decent car wash soap, and I dry with air, not with a towel of any sort. I have not noticed and major damage to my candy shell paint as yet. It's still pretty much perfect, and my detail job was in April 2013. Good luck!
Raj was spot-on with his response. It's all about your washing and drying technique / media. While coatings help to reduce the amount of marring because of their hard surface, they won't prevent swirls/marring if the techniques are not proper. Nice...who taught you that?!
What color is your car? Mine is black and I am totally anal about how I wash the car. From my experience, 22PLE has not helped with micro scratches at all. I was optimistic of that but the reality is the coating is super thin, likely .0001" or less. Nothing that thin can offer protection. I will say it seems to help with stuff sticking to the paint but I still get stuck bugs on the front.
Check out GTechniq EXO and EXOv2. This can be applied over coatings (C1, 22ple, etc.) and is an incredible product for reducing stuck on contaminants. The hydrophobicity is quite amazing as well. It can be applied to all painted, metal, rubber, and plastic surfaces. It's unreal.
Is there any thought one way or the other about something like this over clear bras that advertise themselves as "self-healing"? Does it affect this self-healing property of the films? Would it leave any sort of residue (white or otherwise) at the edge of a film during application?
Where can i get this product in Toronto Canada can i order from the US? Please send me a PM if you got some Thank,s
Is this product intended to replace the need for a film coating to protect against rock chips, etc or is it more like a wax coating or both? Escoteric please respond..
As far as I know, the answer is "no." It isn't as thick as a film coating and probably can't protect paint against a rock chip.
This coating is incredibly thin. Take your hair, cut it into 50 slices...that's about how thick it is...
Which product was used on the original photos (Red & Black) cars and the Yellow car? I went on the website and their are many products to choose from.
Amazing stuff. I've done it on several cars. Prep and application though is a big deal. I've had good results with any detailer but only great results, as in looking brand spanking new with one. The other neat thing about this stuff is it's pretty durable, at least for a year or two. I coated my wife's car brand new so she could go through automatic car washes without ruining the paint. Doesn't keep her from hitting things unfortunately, but it does protect from the abrasion of brushless car washes. Two years later, the car still looks brand new. Reminds me, need to reapply this spring.
