I am wondering when friends/people ask what kind of Ferrari you have, what do most of you say? a 430? a Scuderia 16m? a 16m? I usually just say it's a 16m and many look at me with an odd look. I have just got use to telling people it's a 430.
I usually ask, "Do you know your Ferrari models". They say "yes" and I say, "I have a 16M" and they say, "What's that?". Ugh. Then I'll reset the baseline and ask if they know what an F430 is, then a Scuderia, then explain it's a convertible version of the Scuderia. If I'm really not in the mood for the full explanation.. I say I have "The track version of the F430 spider". This usually works, but not always.
Haha that is me to a T, I hate when people even ask me because I don't want to sound like a jerk or coincided, but in the times it comes up it always seems confusing trying to explain what model, so lately I have just said it's a 430 spyder.
I don't have a 16 M, I have a regular Scud. Regardless, how I answer the question depends upon who is asking it.
I always say 16M, if they then look unsure I say 'Scuderia Spider' and lastly I simply say it's a special limited model that's much rarer than an F40, they are always happy at that!
I only have a 360 but I was in the gas station the other day and a guy asked me what my car was. I said it was a 360 Modena. He said what model to which I replied it's a Ferrari. He persisted and asked what model. I finally twigged that he was asking what year. I guess it all goes back to the way American car manufacturers used to name their cars -- a 49 Ford or a 53 Chevy. I guess I should have said a 99 Ferrari. Alan
I always say a Challenge Stradale and 16M. The list of follow-on questions then begins. Like a "challenge what?" or a "16 huh?" at which point I usually just pull out the iPhone and show them.
First answer is: "16M" 90% will have puzzled look or follow with, "What's that?" I then go into detail about the 430, how they made a race version of it called a Scuderia, and that this is a limited edition convertible version of the Scuderia. Often times asked, "What's the 16....?" Then explain the Ferrari 16 F1 championships, etc, etc..... It really is fun to talk about the car, and show them the carbon fiber, etc....
Official name is 'Scuderia Spider 16M' Ferrari dropped the 430 totally from the name. I always keep to this in any explanation.

After winning its 16th Formula one "constructors championship" last week, Ferrari has chosen this week to release a open top version of the F430 Scuderia. The Scuderia Spider 16M.
