I have found the makers plate, it is on the L/H front door below the lock secured by 4 pop rivets.
It shows the VIN number, month and year of manufacture, GVWR 7685 lbs, GAWR (F) 3800Lbs, GAWR (R) 3885, and that it was manufactured in Italy, The factory claimed it was next to the VIN stamp on the frame under bonnet R/H suspension turret!!!!!

Might well be, not sure though, the info was forwarded by Bentley/Lamborghini Birmingham UK, I had to work through them to get the Certificate of Origin, and that is an expensive piece of paper - 540 pounds/$870!!!!!
My car is a U.S. spec vehicle, and the makers plate is a different shape to the sample pic of the plate Lamborghini sent me

Taffy, you mentioned that your car has been painted a few times, have you looked to see if there are the four rivet holes where the plate might have been removed while paint prepping and not put back!!!! look on both suspension turrets.

Do we know who is the owner of the LM002 that featured in Octane Mag, the black one with UK license No OIL 3000, the re-build on that car looks be a "no expense spared" type of job, and yes the end result looks better than new.

200K and the rest, they said there had been 2400Hrs booked to the job at Lamborghini Service in the U.K. I would guess at GBP120/Hr+/- and that does not include parts. and then you have the cost of the base vehicle - say GBP75,000. that must have ended up being a very expensive exercise, the end result is very good,I think that gives the owner the right to say he has the best LM002 on the world, I am sure mine will never look like that!!!

Silver is interesting colour, and though is the original colour, not a major concern for you I guess, being already other modifications, silver is a bit tame for an LM I think

Your original design seems cool, even the green colour suits the LM too, either of those would be great

In alternate, the red is a fabulous colour on am LM in my opinion, after all, it is a Lamborghini! :D

Quite, similar to Sparco fuel cap.
This one is generic brand but good quality.

    Hi Rob,

Yesterday was still installing the doors and fitting. I did not take any pics since it is still largely the same green sikkens paint.
Monday we will start painting it black.

    Cheers,
    Taffy

So... when this is all done, can I say that the car is 80% restored ?
