Strange post... Should all bicycles have mandatory training wheels? Airbags? Should Porsches be limited to 50 mph? Gun companies.... what's that about? Your other post... that tire company; good for them, professionals... not a huge stretch to say they could have saved the life of your buddy.
Gentlemen please... Sad and tragic yes, but there are by far greater losses that no one seems to care about. Image Unavailable, Please Login
RIP, i did not know he passed. Band of Brothers has a character based on his experiences. Rest In Peace sir.
to be fair though, one led a full and complete life and the other was cut short and has other lives that still depend on him. no one should feel bad about feeling bad for the loss of either.
It's not a competition, and certainly not an intent of either of the deceased. I for one am sad to hear of "Babe" Heffron's passing. However, one can say that he has been forever memorialized in Band of Brothers.
You could say he was honored through the TV series and was alive to experience it. It can't get bigger than that. R.I.P.
Correct. Remember Audi's unintended acceleration lawsuits in the 80's. Some versions of it are STILL going through the courts. Litigation has no scruples.
When someone like Paul Walker dies more people feel it because he impacted their lives similar to how a friend would. People die everyday, but it is not everyday that someone who millions felt they "knew" dies.
Not necessarily, you seem to be trying to relate what one person means to another, by what they accomplished in their lifetime, instead of the impact that person had on another persons life. Losing a person is losing a person, the mother who loses her deadbeat son is going to grieve over him more than she would over a stranger who accomplished so much more, not because her priorities are messed up, but because her son impacted her life. Paul Walker is obviously not like losing a family member, but the basis is still the same, people will usually grieve over individuals who impacted their lives in one way or another more than a stranger who had no direct impact at all.
You're kidding I hope. One made moves and became very wealthy doing it. And had VERY little impact in your and most peoples life. The other helped save the world. With out which you and most here would not even be alive. So which one had greater accomplishments and a bigger impact again?
I'll make it simple for you - the one you knew about prior to this thread. Disparaging anyone's feelings of loss is pretty low, even for you Doc. And I say that having never seen any of Walker's movies, but having a number of friends who knew him personally and knew well what a good person he was despite his fame and how many in his field choose to lead their lives. Anyway, this should be a debate thread, so why not just drop it... >8^) ER
You need to go back and read then, Erik. Here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142778107-post507.html
It is however low to derail a thread to make a point. Make your own thread (no disrespect for the vet').
I also wasn't trying to fight with you, I just don't think it is anyone's place to come in a conversation and try to make people feel bad for grieving over someone's death, just because there were other deaths that didn't get much attention, that is all.
