What a glorious time. Being able to walk right up to the team areas. The one with Ferrari and a simple table set up with food, classic. How different to today.

Absolutely awesome photos! I remember seeing the McLaren transporter on I-75 in Toledo in the early Seventies. A state-of-the-art Can-Am car run by the most successful team at the time was being transported on an uncovered, single-car Chevy (or GMC) straight truck.

Today even amateurs use semis with expensive paint jobs, mobile machine shops and sleeping quarters.

    Those were the days!

I was at a jet funny car meet a few years ago and among all the brand new high dollar rigs was a 50's (?) diesel Freightliner tractor pulling an old Mayflower furniture trailer.
Dont know why but that struck me as cool.

Amazing photo... didn't know that the Tyrell Ford vehicles still had great support and
    vintage restoration like this.

Definitely a world class collection of vehicles worth being in a museum.

    Amazing how far we've come.

For whatever reason, I always enjoy pouring over the layouts of the modern transporters and paddock set-ups. It's probably all research for when we purchase our next transporter, so that we can spec it appropriately. It's fascinating to see how simple things were, as compared to how complicated they are now.
