    I got an email today from my dealer my car went status 40. I emailed him asking what it means and havent received an email back yet but I have been told by a friend that means my car is on the assembly line getting the wires put in etc. My questions how long did people wait after their cars went status 40? Thanks!

    Yeah still seeing if I can find an allocation before it comes in. Ill be honest I kind of dont want it to come in in February. I live in New England which would mean it would be a garage queen till April minimum. I was supposed to get it in April. Oh well what can you do lol, not that i should be complaining lol

    My sales guy hasnt told me it, which I assume I would have it being status 40?

    Congratulations. You may already have this information but here are the meaning of the status codes:

    10 - Orders accepted (Red 10 = No Changes)
    20 - Chassis assembly (at Scaglietti)
    30 - Painting
    40 - Assembly line (dash/wiring/interior/options)
    50 - Assembly line (engine/transmission)
    60 - Finishing
    70 - Testing (road/track)
    85 - Storage
    90 - Water (intransit)
    91 - In Port
    92 - PDI completed
    93 - Shipping to dealers
    94 - Dealer stock
    94 - Red - retailed
    95 - Submit to factory


    My times for certain stages (from March through August 2012) were:

    10 - 10 Red 5.0 weeks
    10 Red - 20 3.5 weeks
    20 - 70 2.5 weeks
    70 - 90 1.5 weeks
    90 - 91 3.0 weeks
    91 - Delivery 3.0 weeks

    I didn't receive the VIN until status 91. For myself and others, the hardest part is once it reaches status 90. I occupied myself by visiting Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions - AIS Marine Traffic regularly. I found three ships with a destination of New Jersey USA that left the port of Genoa on the date my car went status 90. I tracked them across the Mediterranean Sea and picked them up again in US waters. Turns out one of the three ships reached port the day my car went status 91 so it was the ship that delivered my car. Sounds anal and perhaps a waste of time, but you gotta do something during the long wait.

    Thanks for the breakdown. Its not anal what you did, you were just excited! I sometimes cant believe next year I am going to own my own Ferrari! According to your wait time I should have my car by February maybe March. So about a month earlier than my dealer had told me. My birthday is in March so happy birthday to me, lol. Its going to be a good 2014!

    Wow thats two months. Are you here in the US? And if you dont mind me asking, west or east coast? I am on the east coast so I would think the shipping should be faster?

    Ship it by air and save a month! That's what I did with two of my cars. Status 40, and your click starts ticking V E R Y S L O W L Y ! :) When she shows up be sure to take a camera and someone to take photos of you, your car, and your HUGE smile !!!

    I plan on the pictures! lol. I am in no rush because of the cold weather. I would actually prefer if it came in the Spring than winter living in New England. I dont want to pick it up and havde to garage it for a couple months right away lol.
