    Rather than post up separate threads, thought it would be better if I just put everything in one thread. It will be a short thread as I'm not really doing that much to teh car.

    Just over 2 years ago I had an engine in cambelt change done.

    Yes... I know!!!

    I was in a hurry and plus I had the LM engine at the time and was going to put it in later.

    Ended up with the 348 going back a few times to fix fuel leaks when the tank was filled. it got so bad at one point that it was very nearly flowing out.

    A few weeks ago, I heard a rattling sound at the back of the engine, so thought as it needed a service I'll have the cambelts done again, but this time with the engine out.

    Car was handed over to the main dealer HR Owen who have been looking after the 348 for the last couple of years and I've been very impressed with them.

    MESSAGE FOR ERNIE: Yes... I am too lazy to do it myself!! :D

    Purchased a spare set of 355 wheels on ebay and have decided to get them painted bronze.

    Dropped off and waiting to go back and decide on the shade of bronze.

    Neat. I noiticed they did the injector tests at 3 bar even though our regulators area at either 3.5 or 3.8 bar. The flow numbers don't relate to me. Do you know what they mean?

    Check on eBay for a replacement set - look for CS Performance products. They have a replacement set using a 4 hole pattern that I have been using in my car for months. Better yet, it's about $250. Well worth the price. You can also get higher flow versions if you need them.

    No idea what the figures mean to be honest. I'm inly going to replace one if them now. Did consider getting better ones, but I'd have to remap the engine which I don't really want to do right now.

    The 4 hole pattern ones , did you need to modify anything else?

    Andrew "Mad Dog" Holman did the flywheel/clutch/voith/kluber job for me.

    I'd only installed a new clutch in March 2012 but was interested in the Kevlar ones that Andrew sells. You know me, I'm a sucker for modding!!!

    He's just sent me some pics of the clutch/flywheel/pumpkin.

    PLEASE NOTE: Andrew is a friend of mine and I've also recently been filming him working on flywheels/clutches. I'm also paying him for the kevlar plate and he has not asked me to post this on his behalf.

    The biggest modification I'm getting done though is the 355 underfloor panels.

    I'm hoping it will help the high speed stability.

    Will try and post pictures as and when I get them.

    Sy you've reminded me, pic 3 above shows the amount the clutch bolts stick out under the flywheel and so often dig into the voith lid pushing it to one side and letting grease leak out.
    All 348 owners should make sure any new clutch goes back in with new slightly shortened bolts.
    In fact I'll post a before and after pic thread.

    Okay, can someone please explain to me how the injectors can get WORSE after going through cleaning???? #s 6, 7 & 8 all flowed LESS on the after results, and then they gave them an "okay"???

    I dunno Sy, but I would be questioning that big time.

    Sy, no issues with the 4 hole replacements and no I did not have any mapping done. They seem to work just fine as is. But then I think I had a leaky one before.

    Great photos. By sheer coincidence I was looking at your car last week at H. R. Owen as I had my Mondial in there for some work. I am looking to upgrade to a 348 or 355 and was very interested in whats involved but the engine out service costs scares the hell out of me. When i saw your car in pieces I was shocked but on the upside, having the engine out service also means that anything else such as old hoses, connections etc can easily be spotted and replaced at the same time and as its designed to be dropped out it makes working on it very easy.

    They are a great bunch of guys there and I have been using them since i had a bad experience with a specialist that I cant name.

    You have a great car and hope you get it back soon to enjoy it.

    Long story. Short version is Sy got a chance to buy a Michelotto prepped 348 Le Mans class engine that he wanted to install in his car. The project ended up being time consuming and cost prohibitive so he sold the parts he had to DeeGee who has a 348 SS and 348 Challenge. One of these cars will likely end up with this engine installed. Or he might use it to design some "go fast" parts for 348's. Bruce and I looked at the engine and it is a pretty amazing stretch from our mills. The best part of it is the induction system which is a unique cast part with 4 butterfly throttle bodies per side and carbon fiber stacks. It is probably adaptable to our engines. And that's the short of it. :)
