For what I heard: Alonso 14 Raikkonen 7 Bottas 77 Perez 11 Massa 19 Vergne 27? Rosberg 6? Does Vettel choose any and gets to keep it for when it switches to Ferrari? Who will get 13? 17? 66? 69?
Aww, I hoped Raikkonen would chose 44, or at least something with 4, just so I could see the reactions of his Chinese fan girls. For those who don't know, the number 4 sounds a little like "death" in Chinese and is considered unlucky. Also, Raikkonen is incredibly popular with Chinese girls for some reason.
Another silly idea IMO. It's not like we can see the damn numbers these days anyway! I guess it's another marketing opportunity for the jockeys, but who really cares? Current WDC gets #1, his 'mate #2 and we go from there. No problem. Cheers, Ian
Well... if they'd do the cars like this... the number would be fine. This is just awesome. http://www.motorsportretro.com/2013/12/gallery-12-current-f1-cars-that-look-better-in-80s-liveries/
I'd seen a tweet that Bottas wanted 77 as his first choice, just by coincidence that was my autocross number this year. As mentioned above, since it's just about impossible to see the numbers on the car...whatever. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Update from rumours Vettel 11 Alonso 14 Hamilton 44 Raikkonen 7 Rosberg 6 Massa 19 Perez 11 Vergne 27 − 25 Bottas 77 − 11 − 17 Maldonado 3 − 18 Bianchi 7 − 27 − 77 Kvyat 26 Magnussen 20 − 3 − 23
By the analogy of Chinese hating 4, 14 almost sounds like definately die in Cantonese....... Japanese don't like 4 either.
Are the drivers limited to positive integers? There are a few I'd like to give negative numbers, others irrational numbers and a few more imaginary numbers.
I believe 1 will be reserved for that year's champion if he wants to use it. Same as the way they do it in Moto GP.
