OMG I feel so sorry for the owner. I missed seeing the event by about 5 minutes. I just turned the corner and saw the gathering crowd and the fire/rescue show up.

On a beautiful day in Redondo Beach California, a tree limb broke off and hit dead center a 348 spider parked on the street.

I don't know the complete circumstances. A city or power company vehicle was also involved and it's roof was also dented/crushed. It's possible the maintenance vehicle caused the tree to break or they were there trying to stop it from breaking or inspecting it if it had been reported.

It looks like no one was hurt but the car... I think it's unrecoverable.

I've seen this car on the street many times. I know it got good use in its life before this tragic end.

I cannot tell you how many times I drove under that tree. I did it just last night. If it came down on me then, I would not be here today!

That is no spider. It is owned by someone we know. It happened at about 11:30 AM today. I just drove by before and right after it happened because I was on an appointment around the corner. I did stop and chat with people about it. Every RB cop and fireman was there. I really cannot say more. Very sad day. Power is/was out. The Gas Co. was working in the street and that is their truck that also got crushed, missing a worker by minutes.

That hurts to look at. The good news is no one was physically hurt. I'm sure the mental anguish is overwhelming. As we say on the Corvette Forum - Cars can be replaced; people can not. Hopefully your insurance treats you right.

Glad everyone is ok, but that really sucks. I had it happen to me once but it wasn't a Ferrari and not that bad. Hope you get made whole, Bruce.

    Oh Bruce,

So sorry to hear but glad you were not in the car. City is liable. Upgrade to a 12 cylinder. I seem to have an extra.

Soon as I saw Bob's pics, the rims and that it was Redondo Beach I got an awful feeling... Bruce, glad you and Mrs. Plugzit were not in the car at the time. I am so sorry this happened. :(
