    Ruperto,
You have the correct pin out. Remember to use 16 bit mode and also to leave pins 6 and 7 disconnected. Some newer programmers may try to read and write these chips too fast. I recommend *not* using the faster settings. Read the master several times and make sure the checksum is stable. Also I find it really helpful to clean the contacts with alcohol first. You probably know this I just wanted to bring it up just in case :)

I got my hands on a single red fob if anyone is looking for one. First one I've found in a few months.

Got my cloned fob from Mark "gobble" today and it works like a charm!

I found Mark on Ebay (funny - his ebay username includes gobble too) - very smooth and extremely quick turnaround.

Is anyone interested in putting a group together and trying to get a bulk discount on the Porsche stamped fobs? I haven't programmed many lately because they've become so hard to find and the ones that are out there are overpriced (IMO). I just talked to remote-superstore.com and they have 3 left that they want $320 a piece for! I remember when they were selling for $220.

$320 a piece? Wow, just buy a set of Factory ones if that is that much ...

But, I am a little worried about the clones (for me) because my clone has gone out of synch (behind) at least a thousand or two presses.

I had that problem too when I had my 360. For a car I didn't drive very often it wasn't a big deal though. I tried to rotate both in just to not get too far behind. Can't you just press the button a bunch of times to catch the other one up?

And yes the guy's out of his mind. I got him down a bit because someone needed a Euro fob but regardless the price was more than I'd normally be willing to pay.

I have never paid more than $100 for a fob, so looks like I am buying no more fobs once the 4 I have are gone.

You can take a red fob and make two that are half and half, just for identification purposes. Did that with two sets. Owners did not mind.

I just called Foreign Cars Italia to see what their best price would be on a new set of 3 and they want $795! No great quantity deals on the Porsche stamped fobs either. The dealers claim their cost is now over $150 each. I've even gotten through the the right person at Bosch and they say they're proprietary OEM and only sold to the car makers. Why do these things have to be getting so expensive?

They are made in Australia, last time I heard, but nobody seems to know how to unlock the mother lode from the manufacturer of the things. That price of ~$800 for a matched set of 3 has been pretty constant, but that set does include a new PIN. Assuming an owner has his PIN, not a bad deal when a single F430 key/fob is near that price. I always said when my first set of 3 and PIN did not work, that would be it for me, and I had a failure.

I actually spent most of a morning one day and got through to a guy at Bosch that found the part and that they were manufactured for Ferrari, Porsche and Ford. No luck in getting him to sell me any though.

Where would you find the PIN?

With my car - on the keyring for the red remote - I got a metal tag stamped with a letter and a four-digit number. Is that the PIN?

No.The metal tag is the code for the keys.

I don't have the PIN then.

Is there a way to obtain it from the signal sent out by the red remote?

By the way, one of my remotes has a damaged rubber button - is there anywhere I can get a replacement without buying a whole new case?

I think your only hope for a pin is to pay the $500 to Ferrari.....and hope they send you the right one. I've heard quite a few stories about pins being wrong or immobilizers not being original.

I may have an extra rubber button in my miscellaneous parts bin but otherwise have never seen them for sale.
