Has anyone started this yet? Where can I buy a kit in Canada? I'd buy online from the US but the shipping is outrageous, it's a heavy kit, unbuilt! Plus, I like to support my home country retailers.

Hornby (Pocher manufacturer) USA page says "To order from Canada email [email protected] or call Toll Free 1.877.358.6405".

Hornby USA is offering free shipping through the end of December with a code from AutoWeek magazine. If anyone needs it just ask.

I've been waiting for a thread on this to turn up here - there is a 10 page thread on one of the model forums but nobody there has received one yet.

There is speculation regarding aftermarket transkits to follow. Autograph Model perhaps?

Tommaso will make some transkits I believe, when he gets the basis kit. They will be amazing. Just look at his 1/10 Gallardo/Aventador thread to get your juices flowing!
    Fantastic.

    Cheers. Mark.

    POCHER - It's a Lamborghini Aventador!!!

Not all that interesting at least so far. The thread started last January 30 when the model was announced and the bulk of it is speculation about price and whether Pocher can survive.

The first un-boxing reports are trickling in. Model seems to be very well packed.
Biggest issue so far? The tires are hard molded plastic and don't look right.

It appears that I relied upon incorrect information in stating that the tires are hard plastic.

People building this model over on scalemotorcars have found 3 mistakes in the instructions so far.
    1. Seatbelt mounting point.
    2. Exhaust manifold parts reversed.
    3. Incorrect emblem on dashboard.

I will take care of that problem, already working on it. Whoever wants a perfect model build just email me.

The picture in the instructions for the seatbelt appears to be wrong.

The exhaust manifold parts may have been swapped by the person voicing the complaint.

The wrong emblem is called out in the instructions according to that same builder.

Tommaso, can you share anything about the transkit you are working on?

    Hi
to be honest I'm trying to finish the Reventon 1:10 first. But I will check later after the holidays. With 3 kids around its a little bit tough to open the box and spread out the pieces (you can imagine with them around).

It's tough to tell from the photos, so I'm curious - what is the general sense of the quality of this kit as compared to the older Pocher kits, like the F40 and the Testarossas?

    Thanks.

Seems to be getting generally good reviews for fit and finish. A few fanatics talking about stripping and repainting. A few disappointed in the level of detail and lack of complication. Some of them were hoping for a project that might take months to assemble not something that could be done in a week. Some were no doubt hoping for a throwback to the original Pocher models where a wire wheel might take hours to put together and special home-made jigs and so on. Some are hoping for the motor as a separate kit to be displayed next to the finished car.
The Aventador definitely fits with the Testarossa and the F40 but with better panel gaps.
If transkits can be offered at reasonable prices and focus on particular areas I think there will be a good market for them. A 3D printed set of wheels for example or a Mansoury or DMC body kit, a photo-etch set for the engine bay, a set of Tomasso's brake calipers and rotors. I would NOT want to see an all-encompassing kit like Autograph's F40 that cost more than the model and requires soldering or jewelery-making skills.
A template set for carbon fiber decals would be another nice addition.

Tommaso, if you are listening, how about a DMC "Molto Veloce" version? ;-)

Lighting kit might be nice too...

stig - thanks very much for this. I know of at least one F40 which was very well done with loads of aftermarket parts (billet machined wheels, for instance), to make it into an F40LM. I think the cost of aftermarket parts ran into 4 figures, for a 3 figure ($400) kit! But I digress.

    Thanks again.
