    I am a 2,
    I enjoy the car,
I do like driving it, although seldom
I have and will continue to put time and money to better the car and keep it original.

As far as the resale, I have little interest in that, among my may cars, I still own my first car that my brother convinced me to buy before I got a drivers license 45 years ago.

    I might sell/trade for a lower mile/better example car.

    Sorry, it gets worse....10.
But, as I said, I'll keep making her brand new after I use her up.

Wait! Wait! I haven't voted yet either.

Lessee, humm, I'm on target to put on my planned 2,500 miles/per year on my 308, so that puts me at 10. Then again, I like polishing 'er up and fixing stuff better than before I broke it, so that puts me at 1. And of course, I have a second sports car that I've had for 16 years that I really know how to drive the snot out of and I don't really know how to drive the 308 very well yet, so that would put me at 4.

    ... Overall, I would say I am a 5.642

I've owned my 308 for 20 years put 40k miles on it and won a FCA classic preservation award (2003) and raised 2 kids in it, so I guess I'm a 10! Ferraris are ment to be driven & enjoined not left to the next lucky girl or guy!

I put about 13,000 miles on my Testarossa in a four year period. Just got my 360 this year. I drive her. Once salt hits she is down. Sometimes I drive her all weekend long. I think I'm a solid 9

10 or 11. Drive it (sun, rain, snow), modify it, fix it with non-Ferrari parts sometimes, use inexpensive wax and polish, touch up the paint with a Sharpie marker, live on a dirt road (in Alaska), but don't neglect it. 60,000 miles, not planning on selling it (or my 1995 truck).

The other two owners had dated her me and I was not going to make the same mistake and hand her over to the next guy after I had driven her 2,000 miles.

I picked her up when she was like a virgin. I was thinking, she was only drive under 1,000 miles per years. I calculated the cost of up keeping her and decided regardless on the road or as a garage queen, cost would have been the same so I have racked up 30,000 miles but treat her with respect, take care of her as needed.

I love driving her and I don't care about the value going up or down. If I sell, it will priced same as those who claim to have 15,000 miles and all original or in perfect condition.

The only difference with mine is that if I had to cover the odometer, no one can tell she has 45,000 happy miles and still looks like a virgin. I am a 9.

    Results – see figure

    1. As the value goes up does the curve shift left? Would you expect the mirror image for 246 owners?

    2. For us 8,9,10 folk, what happens in 20 years? Is a 500,000 mile Ferrari scrapped, crushed, turned into electric, or does it go forever?

p.s. sorry you floating point voters, you got quantized :)

    I guess I'm closer to a 1 than a 10. :(

Not so worried about miles but I am kind of anal about condition. Maybe too anal.

Additionally, over the seven years (time flies!) I've owned the car, 328's (along with 308's) have become even more classic and special which has shifted my mindset even closer to the idea of preservation rather than using it up. If we were talking about a 360 or 430, I would be a '10' :p.

So put me down as a '2'. I know, weird.

I'm firmly of the opinion that a car should be both used and well maintained. Just because a car is driven doesn't mean it gets used up. Fix things that need fixing, replace that which needs replacing, do the normal maintenance. Above all enjoy it.

Good point. When it comes to driving, well, I tend to drive it like I stole it, with sympathy of course. :)

To me, buying a great car and not driving it is like marrying Miss America and not having sex with her so that she is still a virgin for her next husband.

I've never been a concours, trailer-queen kind of car guy. I buy cars to drive them and have fun. That's what it is all about. The past year or two, I have not had much time to get the 328 and XKE out to drive them as I like to. Hopefully, that will change over the next couple of years. They are great cars, and actually do better when they are driven then when they just sit around.

So I guess I'd put myself philosophically at about an 8 or 9. I just need to find a little more time to practice what I preach. LOL :D
