Thanks again greyboxer, But it's a real problem for me. Do you think that this FT46 key will work? I doubt because i think that the section of my original 360 key and this FT46 Key is not exactly the same... I just want the exact références (Fiat key? other? for my 360/2002 Spider).
I saw these at the store in NYC- they felt kind of light weight, but if the store is selling them they must be legit, right? If they are real, why would people pay $600+ on ebay when they can just get one at the store for $190? Can the key they sell in the NYC store be cut for a 360?
I just went back to this post from 2007- I guess the Ferrari Store keys are just knock offs ironically sold by Ferrari itself. Ferrari is such a strange company....
At one point in time a few years back, Ferrari was selling Enzo keys that had "blank" (uncut) blades. These were very conveniently cut to match an existing Ferrari key through a visit to any Ace hardware, lowe's, home depot, etc. (relevant to older model Ferraris that have the transponder in a separate remote fob.. more recent, say 05+ models have everything integrated into the main key). Ferrari may have realized what people were doing and stopped shipping the keys with uncut blades. The keys you find in the ferrari stores these days have pre-cut blades, making it a bit more difficult (and certainly more time consuming, via retrofitting another blank) to create a working "Enzo" key for your car. anyway, I have a few uncut ones left ... not sure what I'll do with them, but anyone too unmotivated to perform a retrofit themselves can PM me

Right when I heard that Ferrari stopped selling Enzo keys, I quickly bought two. I still have them, shrink wrapped and everything. I'm waiting until I'm 65 to sell them and retire.

Guys, sorry to reopen this thread agibn, but I decided to make the same thing and bought an Enzo key. The problem is that I have a 355 and it seems, that the 360 and the 355 keys are different, so this FT46 blank key will not work for me. Does anyone know which model is the correct key, that I can use for my 355?
Are you sure they are different? It is common to see keys advertised as working for both the 355 and 360. http://www.ferraricarbon.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=17 You can pick up a basic key blank for a couple bucks. It is a Fiat X152 / FT46.
I bought a few extra official Enzo keys and then I did the whole project of opening up the key, shaping FT46 key blanks, fitting them inside, and the weighting the base too. The same FT46 works in my 360 spider (after cutting it to match my key, of course) and in a friend's 355 (the FT46 blank was cut to fit his car without a problem) Google search ILCO FT 46 and get those blanks. Cut one to match your key. If it works, do the steps found earlier in this thread to fit it into an official Enzo key base, add a couple of coins for weight and you're good to go. If you want the steps already done, PM me as I still have a couple of these already done (official Enzo keys into which I have already inserted FT46 blanks so it is ready to be cut to fit your car)
Well, I have looked at my original key and it seems, that the FT46 key has one additional stripe at the middle, but I guess if you say it works, then that this doesn't make any difference. Thanks all.
The online ferrari store has been out of the Enzo keys for quite some time now. I had to order mine from outside the USA. Try the Milano or Rome ferrari stores (call them).
I want to make a spare key. Is there a chip or is this a key with a fancy knob (with no chip). Don't care if it's "ugly" looking. Can I just buy the FT46 and have a local key smith match it?
Yes. Easy to do. No chip in the key head for 360s or CS models. Just tell the locksmith that it's a Fiat so he doesn't charge you double ! I can confirm that the ILCO FT46 blank works great with zero issues for me.
