Dec.24 (GMM) McLaren could launch its 2014 car with an orange livery, according to an Italian media report. Omnicorse claims the famous British team will publicly reveal its new car, the MP4-29, on 25 January. The news is not yet official, but McLaren has reportedly informed its rival teams of its plans, in order to avoid a potential clash of dates in the days leading into official testing. And with title sponsor Vodafone now departing, and McLaren not yet announcing a replacement, the report said the Woking based team is considering launching its last Mercedes-powered car in its traditional orange. They might and i won't be surprised. They did some testing in 2005 i believe in interim orange. But would definitely surprise me if they do ditch their chrome.
Hasn't McLaren done this a number of times in recent years? I remember McLaren running orange in preseason testing and then going to their race livery for the start of the season. Mark
I like it but I'm funky like that. Concerning the Mac rendering I thought those odd noses were a thing of the past?
Mmmm......Having lost Vodafone, finishing 5th in the WDC and with no announcement yet of a new sponsor, it sounds to Me as if McLaren simply can't afford the Chrome paint anymore!
I'm sorry but nothing with a nose like that can be: That's a nose that only a Mother could .............. No!, even a Mother would declare: "I think the World of you but damn! - You sure is ugly!" (And that's not because it's a McLaren rendering, that's for any F1 car that looks anything like that! - I am living in dread of next years cars at this moment in time based on the possibility of those noses! )
It's my opinion and you have yours, I think it looks cool considering the restrictive regs, it is after-all in the eye of the beholder. If I want to look at a beautifully shaped lump of metal/alloy, I will go in my garage..
I'm sat in a front room surrounded by Ferrari models so I have no need to go anywhere to see beautifully shaped lumps of metal!
