I only saw the rear of this turquoise blue car while driving past Ford world HQ. It was designed by Giugiaro for Bertone at the behest of Scott Bailery, publisher of AQ. Quite tasteful in its day, though the styling is not so unique now that Mazda RX2 used nose and Mazda RX4 used side roof styling. I saw an ad by Bailey pleading for news on the car which seems to have vanished some years ago in the area of Monte Carlo. Has anyone seen this at a show or knows if it's out and about? Maybe Bailey sent it for show and didn't insure it.
I am wondering if Ford paid for the car to be built out of their PR budget. After all, they sold 22,000 stock Mustangs the first day so they had plenty of money in the budget. It's quite a bit better looking than the OSI Mustang which I have to find pictures of again. Here's where the Bertone Mustang is pictured
