You can not be serious?! The vette would be miles faster in a straight line, but "light years ahead of a 355 in chassis dynamics" I find very, very hard to believe indeed. I do agree that coming from something with 800hp to a 355 may not be a great idea, if only because if you are someone who sees the point of 800hp you may not quite "get" what a 355 is about. In terms of desirability? Absolutely no contest.
The Black 355 GTS is a pretty car for sure. I also have a serious issue with modding and I know that I will not do it to the 355 do to the sheer cost of the mods..LOL My last Corvette - Had 700hp w/ 15k paint job.
Dude...I just looked at your photobucket kid pic and a bunch of pics of you at the gym flexing popped up as well. Kind of weird. I would disable if I were you. Just sayin'.
Lmao Stalkers!!!!!!! That's the risk you take when your curious and go into a part of a folder you were not invited too. Haha I can lock the all album I guess. I am on a body building forum too. At least I work out lol
You might want to put in some seat time in a 355 before you pull the trigger. And get in and out of a gtb or gts with the roof on a few times as we'll. Seriously, these cars were not designed for 250lb body builders. This is beyond the monumental difference in hardware between your vette and a 355. The allure of these cars is not the 375hp which by today's standards is peanuts. It ismuch more the styling, the marque, the cache and in the 355 the seat if your pants road feel and handling. Of course the sound and the power band at high revs. It goes plenty fast and gets there quick enough for me as well. I'm not sure that coming from your very modded vette to this will be good enough for you Really do find a way to spend some time with one both ergonomicly and road wise before pulling the trigger
Good advice. I am no where near 250lbs and am small 5'7" so in and out will be easy. I understand the car will be mad slow vs my car. But it's nice to see the passion y'all have with the 355 and the pleasure you get out of ownership.
the chassis package for sports cars has evoved for many in the last 10 years...the corvette among that group. if you think the corvette c6 would not be 5 seconds faster per lap around a Watkins or Road A...you may be up for a disappointment.
You need to drive a 1995 ZR-1. You would change your mind about Corvettes based on this car and engine alone. 405 HP, 8000 rpm red line and 4 cam V-8 made in the USA. What a car! Too bad the accountants killed it. With all the advances made on the LSx motors, adding the 4 cam heads would have made Europe envious. Imagine a 6.0 liter 4 cam V-8.
To be fair, I know the. 355 nor the 430 can match the power my car has. Even the 458 would have trouble but 458 can plant the power better than mine and will out handle mine. I just hope the lack of hp does not get me bored. Lol I have had a lot of 600hp+ cars
Of course it all comes down to personal preference. A few years ago I sold my 1000hp APS twin turbo 07 ZO6 and bought a 99 F355GTS. The vette was great in the fact that it had brutal acceleration, but that also made it hard to find a spot to open it up and have fun. Go through just a couple of gears and you're doing 100+ with a few hundred feet of black marks on the street behind you. Also, the turbos took away a bit of the fun in terms of cornering. When it was naturally aspirated it was much easier to balance through a fast sweeper or even drift it. With the turbos so much attention was required to drive it, it takes away some of the enjoyment. I have since sold the F355 as well but I did love the car. Nowhere near as fast of course but the sound was spectacular and everything about the car was just fun, I would definitely like to get another some day. Again, it all comes down to what you want. I liked both cars but I also like to experience different types of cars. (I have a couple of 50's Cadillac's now).
Hey dude, if you r all about the HP, then Ferrari is not your thing. Ferrari's are a different experience altogether. It's a package. It either gets under your skin and you are hooked or it doesn't. Some people are immune, like most Porsche and Viper drivers. Some people don't want to get it - it can be like crack and almost as expensive of a hobby. But for the automotive romantic, this is sports car nirvana.
FYI, I'm 6'0" and weight 225. I'm very comfortable in my 355 with or without the top. I do keep the seat all the way back but that's just a preference.
The OP's quads are putting out 600HP... Each!!! God bless the seat bolsters in the 355 he ends up with. Jk
You just made me laugh out loud literally. My Lamborghini seats have a ton of bolster so I am sure the Ferrari will be fine. Lol.
