You need to consider different lighting conditions. And it is definitely metallic, so not Corsa. I think it is indeed Maranello. Berlinetta, which is the other popular metallic red for the F12 is more orangey, as is Fuoco. Not even considering Fiorano, which is nearly bordeaux.

I think all hints point to it being Rosso Maranello indeed.

I think you're correct. Rosso Berlinetta is famously a $27k option and checking the window sticker you see a $26,656 'Special Option' and the color listed as 'Special' up top. We can also compare it to this model (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ff-f12/402219-some-pics-rosso-berlinetta-f12.html) which you've seen in person so would probably be able to identify it.

Regardless, it's beautiful in that color.

I would say r. berlinetta. Question--is it odd that on sticker model year says 2013? If it was made within the last couple of months, shouldn't it be 2014? Or is there an e.u. regulation that says cars aren't 2014 models unless made in 2014?

Light conditions could affect a correct answer, but I would say Rosso berlinetta or maybe "F1 Rosso 2007"

Are these typed up by hand on the options side. Odd how they spell carbon "fibre" driver zone one way then right below it spell it another way (fiber) for the dash inserts.

Also are Rosso Berlinetta and Maranello both a $27k option?

As far as I know Rosso Maranello is equally expensive as both are tri-layer, etc. So if they said Maranello I just don't see enough evidence to think they're wrong. Again, just consider lighting conditions!

Berlinetta to me is the perfect color for this car (albeit expensive). It's more like a metallic Rossa Corsa -- just a bit darker.

Berlinetta is definitely metallic with really, really fine flakes.

I agree... very likely Rosso Berlinetta.

BTW I am told you can order Rosso Berlinetta on a 458 etc. ... all it costs is money.

I don't believe you're right about the cost. I think the tri-layer paint is more like $18-19K now and matte paint is $27-28K. I think it used to be $28K and $50K, respectively.

I'm on the list for an F12 and when my turn comes, it is going to be RB or RM for me. I saw a GF at my dealer being delivered the other day. Stunning color for grey color fans, that and the silver matte look awesome on the F12.

I thought Berlinetta was an 18 grand option... but I'm not completely sure. Certainly the metallic makes the subtle curves pop. And, this car has a lot of subtle -- and beautiful -- curves.

Like all metallics RB pops in bright light and becomes subdued in the dark. It is a tri-layer but for some reason it lacks the "softness" of some of the other tri-layers such as the yellow and white. It is spectacular.

    r. berlinetta is either $26.6K or $27.6K. I've forgotten. That is what I ordered for my F12, which should arrive around March. The cost is a bit hard to justify, but I look at it as simply part of the total price of the car.

I view it as a depreciating object of art. Soon it will be worth half of what I paid, but if I keep it well maintained, I'm hoping depreciation stops at about 50% and the value stays around there. In the mean time for my $200K depreciation cost, I get to enjoy the car.

It will take some years before it hits 50%, probably at least 5, maybe 7. But if everyone starts to rationalize this purchase, Ferrari and all the others would soon be out of business. I tyr not to let the crazy finances bother me. As you say, just enjoy it. It makes other people happy, not just you. :)

    To the OP:

Would it be posible for you to confirm exact color? I guess double checking with the staff would be OK and of course the color sticker under front bonnet would be definitive. I'm kind of amazed at how many members here have assumed it's rosso Berlinetta even though you were told it's Maranello by the staff themselves, and the visual comparisons available are not at all concluding...

It's nuts to have the price of a decent house (where I Live) in a car but if you can do it.......

Ferraris fall under the same rationalization as big homes, boats and jets. LOL
