    2008 599 GTB 17000 miles on purchase. Have owned her since early September. Already put 3000 miles on her but she was never bought to be a summer garage queen. Cant stop taking her out! Went to the Cambridge supercar meet the other week organised via some guys on pistonheads. Was a bit of a lightweight on the departing thrash for all the onlookers as the road was a bit wet and she certainly can be a bit twitchy on cold tyres. Having a complete blast. Don't know how I'll cope when the snow grounds her.

    Anyway if you see me driving up the A12 around Colchester give me a wave.

    Pic below will always be special to me as this was the car just arrived home for first time after 300 mile drive from Carrs in Exeter.

    Did they tell you how to check the oil? Its not how the book says.

    Hi

    I am in Chelmsford and a newby too. Picked up my F430 26/10/2013. I posted a picture and an intro under the heading 47 years, 5 months 7 days in the 'new introductions' section. As someone said to me then..."welcome to the fast lane". I'll keep an eye out on the A12.

    Just checked out your post, wish my wife was on board with the whole Ferrari ownership experience, she definitely doesn't want to drive it even now, let alone come along on the initial car pick up and drive it on the way back. Not surprising really, she drives a 1.1 litre corsa.

    Often around Chelmsford area, will keep a look out for you, a convoy on the A12 next summer beckons.

    Thanks for all the replies. I'm located in NE Essex just outside of Colchester close to Suffolk border. Nice to know there are a few other guys local. See quite a lot of Ferraris and Maserati's around local roads, suspect they're en route to/from or on test drive from local dealer.

    Hi,

    I'd be up for a summer run out. I'm further up the coast near Gt Yarmouth. There's a few nice roads and pubs in the Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex area for a meet.

    Thanks for the timely advise Grant, I checked the oil the other day using the correct method as advised and it was getting low, so I managed to get some of the correct oil via ebay as you suggested and its all safely topped up now

    Would it be normal to need a top up after 4000 miles of use. Was so used to my M5 telling me when it needed a top up I sort of got a bit slack about checking. How frequently do you check, manual seems to suggest before every journey!

    The summer weekend toy out and ready for the summer next to the daily drive, just need a RR now for the winter and im totally sorted. My wifes 1.2 litre corsa is safely out of the picture.

    Amazing how the 599 has the same footprint if not wider than the M5 which is hardly a small car.
