Thanks Roy for all your work in digging up the history on the Cheetah!

I was a very proud owner of a LM002 so this endeavor was very interesting for me to see.

    This thread sucks.
This is an incredible find and a cool piece of Lamborghini's history. I really look forward to seeing it completed... (The thread and the truck)

Guys grow up, all of you and stop whining like kids and stop ruining threads. Don't close the thread either because there is absolutely no reason to, this car or the cheetah in general has ties to Lamborghini, no one can argue that.

Can't wait to see the Cheetah. Kudos to Roy for digging so much into the history of this chassis, disproving several rumors, and doing the kind of due diligence special cars deserve.

I heard the Cheeta pulled Santa's sleigh last night because Rudolph & the 8 tiny reindeer all had the flu.

    That's one fast truck.

You mean, has there been an admittance of misrepresentation, reconciliation of the bitsa actuality to the original claims? Uhhhhh, no.

Still curious about my last post....

    It can't be both ways.

    I'll restate:

    Cut? Not cut?

    Geneva? Not Geneva?

    Just one? More than one?

I'll add more, since there has been some flip flopping on:

Stampings? No stampings? If claimed no stampings by numerous sources is accurate, then, it sure aint the Geneva truck...

Title? No title? If claimed no title, it proves it is not the Geneva truck because the Geneva truck DID have a VIN CHE77-1001, which means it can be titled.

Anyone else notice how there was the original post claiming it was the original, the only, etc, etc, and then it has been slowly and quietly backtracked to a point where "well, it had some parts from the Geneva vehicle"?

Roy has some interesting stuff. I just wish he would have posted it from the start. Maybe this thread could have taken a different path.

It's interesting to say the least. I for one don't know what to think. On the one hand I think it could be somthing significant. On the other I can't get my mind away from the thought that the real truck was smashed up and disposed of. Maybe is was...maybe it wasn't. The more info he, and others can post the better.

This thread is pretty rough. The truck is one of my all time favorites, and I hope we continue to get updates on it..

I just was looking at another spec sheet (this one has TCM logo on it) and I noticed some differences from the one I posted from MTI. I attribute the difference in net weight to the fact that MTI spec sheet stated "aluminum" body panels, and TCM sheet specifies "steel" body. The TCM sheet also shows a 400 lb increase in payload (fuel being unchanged). This would indicate the TCM vehicle being 600 lbs heavier than the original. The 400 lb increase in payload probably resulted from the rear deck being used to carry additional cargo, I would guess. Any mounted weapons would have to be taken into consideration as well. The TCM spec sheet indicates info available in August 1978. Just some more trivia to think about if one wishes. ;)

I also have a list of options (Lamborghini logo on this one) that were to be available, which I may post at a later time.
