This sums it up for me.

Watching him race and how he conducted himself throughout his career motivated me to be a better person in everything I do.

All my best to MS and family. God Bless you all.

NYT report this AM says that all outcomes remain possible and that it may be weeks or even months before we know what recovery will look like.

I am not sure if I can even find it in my heart to care about the 2014 season coming up soon here. Schumacher is F1 for me, even if he's not driving. Anyone else feeling a lack of care for 2014 now? I suppose Michael wouldn't want it that way so I should buck up, but still.....

    Yes. I feel the same.

He has such a huge impact on motorsport in general, let alone F1, it's hard to get excited about 2014.

Apparently Ferrari, through its local clubs is organizing a get together tomorrow in Grenobles to show its support for Michael.

    Come on guys!

While I too have, and indeed continue, to feel distinctly maudlin at present I also know he wouldn't want us to 'give up' on the sport to which he gave so much!

I'm pretty devastated by the turn of events, but F1 *must* go on. We know that's what he wants after all. I may have felt differently if he were still driving, or even on the wall somewhere, but he wasn't even at many races last year.

We've still got a lot to look forward too, including his return to the pits sometime soon.

    Godspeed.

    Cheers,
    Ian

When Senna died I could not watch F1 for 4 years. He died in an F1 race car.

Schumi was injured on skis. Does not really effect F1 for me.
I believe he would want fans to support the sport he loved.

    Hi guys.

As I mentioned before, here in Germany many people are very hateful on Schumacher, because he resides in Switzerland.

Schumacher was and is still a hero for me and many friends.
He needs our good thoughts and prayers and I think he deserves it from each of us.
I know I didn't sound that optimistic in the last days, but I try to be only optimistic about a full recovery. This is what he deserves and at the moment, I can't image a "different" Michael. I really can't.

I had no idea he didn't live in Germany. Is it a tax issue?

I know many celebrities and F1 drivers have residency in Monaco for tax reasons.

I also know that almost ALL italian celebs reside outside of Italy because of the insane taxation rate. Flavio Briatore gave an interview about this some time ago.

That's one reason. Being left alone and living in a relatively safe environment are others.

Just today I received an email from one of his neighbors in Switzerland who is beyond himself as he used to play soccer with Michael and his kids played with MS' kids.

Why aren't they hateful of the German government for taxing him out of the country?

    Cheers,

    Geo

My good friend had this crash in 2012.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6k88Q3ag30]CTSCC 2012 Road America Practice Pombo Huge Crash - YouTube[/ame]

His helmet was cracked( and it was a $2k ++bucket) and he suffered traumatic brain injuries. He was in a coma for a week and eventually was air ambulanced to the Sheppard center here in the ATL. This year he was cleared to be back in a race car. The initial prognosis was not good, but the outcome was very good and required a lot of hard work on everyone who was involved.
Hopefully MS can have the same outcome

PS the car had total brake failure and the BS from speed on his condition was totally wrong. He was in grave condition immediately. His brother is one of the leading concussion surgeons and was co driving with him that day
