    Hey All,
Where is the charger on the 458. I thought it was in one of the bags under the hood, but it is not there.
    Thanks
    Ray

Actually mine was in a bag in side of the bag holding the car cover. Check there as well.

If you find it, don't use it. Use an aftermarket one (about $80). The Ferrari ones are notorious for not being effective.

Guess I should consider myself lucky. They have all worked well for the
    3 Ferrari's I have owned including my current 458.

I have never used my trickle charger. After I found it in the trunk, i put it in the cupboard along with car cover where it has sat since. I just drive the car often enough which keeps the car charged. I don't travel for more than 7-10 days at a time, no problems starting car so far.

They do have a bad reputation. The one that came with my 458 failed early on but its replacement under warranty has been fine for 2 1/2 years. The one that came with our '07 F430 is original and still works fine.

The OP should find his and try it out to make sure it is OK.

    Same here.

Judging by it's outer appearance I'd say they are OEMed by C-Tek (from Sweden ?), the same OEM of the Porsche-chargers among others. I use a C-Tek-charger for my oldtimer, too, as it isn't driven most of the year.

C-Teks have a good reputation as far as reliability and function are concerned.

Happy New Year y'all, btw. ;)

    Best,
    Ulli

Really, I have always used mine when I switch Fcars to drive. Has always worked perfectly.

    Also on my 430.

my OE charger has a special plug to fit the outlet under the passenger side dashboard. Can you get an aftermarket charger with this plug? If not, how do you attach to the car to charge?

Mine works fine. cycles the battery.
