    I've got an opportunity that is really interesting that would entail resettling in Annapolis. I know very little about it other than McGarveys. Could one of the listers who is familiar with Annapolis shoot me a private email so I can ask stupid questions about where to live, what to expect etc? Thanks in advance

    We just bought a place on Rock creek, so I'll be much closer than where we were. Took part of morning off to drive today in the nice weather.

    We lived in Annapolis from 94-98. (I'd lived previously in Alexandria, Bethesda and Potomac, as well as Chicago). It is visually beautiful. It's muggy and buggy four months of the year. Sailing is only pleasant in the spring and fall. There are some good restaurants and it can be a fun place to visit, but living there is different from being near a big city.

    It really depends on your personality and interests. We didn't like it even though I had a house on the South River waterfront, a dock and two boats. By contrast, we love Oregon, so that may say more about us than Annapolis.
