I've had my 355 F1 for a little under 2 years now. I replaced the pump with a 360 pump even though it hadn't failed yet. It was getting a little slow on start up so I did it as preventative maintenance. It cost me around $3k and my shop did an excellent job. I plan on getting a 430 in the next year or two. I'll buy the first car that I like and can get for the right price. Stick vs F1 will not be the deciding factor. Condition and color will be more important.

What do you mean slow on start up? When car is first started and you put in gear, or when taking off?

I had to wait for the F1 light to flash 8-12 times when starting the car before I could shift with the old pump. After replacing the pump it now flashes 1-4 times.

The startup procedure for an F1 is as follows: (similar to launching a missle LOL)

    -Enter Car
    -Insert Key
    -Turn to position II
-Wait for F1 pump to prime (mine takes exactly 7 flashes)
-Select "N" if not already in N
-Press Fob button to release immobilizer (unless you did this before opening the door)
    -Start Car

EDIT (7 flashes only at a cold start up. 0-3 if I stop for gas or grap a quick lunch)

Dang, I'd like to hear the story on your car! Great news for you, but I feel for the first owner who almost never took the opportunity to enjoy the little beast.

I'm not a good one to ask about a 60K mile car - I'd look for less miles. What's the price?

All interior is likely to need sticky parts fixed (from photos) and that's going to cost north of $2K even if you disassemble / assemble yourself.

-2 red FOB's - should be one red and two black (look into that)

-Pass. Air bag looks like it will need a recover.

-low res pics - hard to tell leather condition.

    Not one I'd want...

Im conversating with dealer now, just replied, hasn't got to price yet, but states that he is "motivated" to sell. good points I will bring these up to him...only eye catcher was that 20k work done. I want one as long as its in writing that work was performed and receipts
and records that has just been under the knife, offers a piece of mind so to speak..I know things can still go wrong.

In the comments it says: "60300 US Freeway Miles" Perhaps a mistake....

It is listed at the top of the listing as kilometer mileage. I think the text is just trying to say that the km/mileage was accumulated on US highways.

If a rosso/corsa, f1 spider is what you are looking for the one that I mentioned earlier is still for sale and is a very, very nice car with no stories, three owners. Approx 20K miles (not KM).

Or south of $20 if you do it all yourself. OK, a small exaggeration.....but certainly less than $50 to clean and paint the parts yourself.

The HVAC overlay is $350ish alone - can you make one of those yourself?

And sure, if you chose, you can screw around with the sticky parts, trial and error. For me, I sent mine to SNM since Robbie has this down to a science and even if I did it myself I doubt that it would last as long as someone who has perfected the process...

There is a 99 red on tan 6 speed stick coupe. in your neck of the woods in toronto .
Its a US car with 20000 miles and he's asking $ 67000 cdn its in the ATrader or i can send you a number ,it looks real nice if you like coupe's.
You have to remember that are $$$$ is only worth 93 cents now if you buy in the states plus 6% duty you have to factor that in.

The F1 responds to a 8500+ RPM shift almost as if another car has tapped you from behind. Its actually a bit more violent than that, especially the first few times you feel it. I am constantly amazed that the transmission does not exit the rear in a fiery explosion of metal bits when this happens.

I doubt if it is mechanically possible for a stick car to provide that sensation (guys correct me if I am wrong) but for me it is one of the most thrilling things about the F1 car and it never gets old.

I never considered a stick and have not regretted the decision for a moment.
