I have a name suggestion. How about the "Ferrari F-SHUT UP AND WIN".

Agreed. Seems all this worrying about what to call their car malarcky hasn't worked out so well in the last few years.

How about anything what they can come up with and add MS at the end. Problem solved.

Exactly. If they're so worried about their legacy then build a car that wins and then it's silly name may not seem as critical. To that point they can name it after it's won the season and call the F-FURB.

And then (I hope) if Shumy is better they can add "This car saved Michael Schumacher's life" to the suffix of the name.

Hopefully they can win the titles with this. If not...what an embarrassment...

They could call it the F2007b as the F2007 was the last car to win a Championship for us. That reminder might help to motivate both the drivers too!

If/when he recovers maybe they should let Schumacher have an F1 car and unlimited access to Fiorano and Mugello. That might stop him doing dangerous stuff like skiing and horse riding.

That's exactly what I thought too.

I don't get all the criticism in this thread.

I'll chime in to say that I don't think it would be appropriate at this point. Remember that the GA suffix was added for Giovanni Agnelli posthumously. Using MS in the present situation could be seen as pessimistic or even morbid.

Well, they have also named their cars after positive events (150 Italia, F60).

Wouldn't you say that's very different? The precedent was set with Agnelli as far as naming after a person.

IIRC, Schumacher is still under contract with Mercedes as ambassador or something like that, so I guess that someone and MB would get quite angry.

Plus, he´s still alive so I´d see this as unapropiate.

F151. Then they can bottle and sell it.

I disagree: there are many F1 cars named after living persons

For instance all Williams are FW and all Saubers carry a C for Christine (Saubers wife) to name a few.

It is only unusual for Ferrari to name their cars after people but why not start now? I wouldn't mind seeing a Surtees, a Lauda or an Arnoux. Unlike most teams Ferrari has a great and long history. Why not honor their drivers, dead or alive.

Im afraid that the car will not live up to the name if they do.

That's all well and good. Williams and Sauber are team owners.
    Read my post again:
    1. The only F1 Ferrari to be named after a person was done so posthumously.
    2. With Michael's prognosis so uncertain, to do what you propose would be totally inappropriate, to say the least.
I can't believe that you don't see this.

I can see what you mean but I was merely trying to point out a different perspective.

After all Ferrari themselves see it differently as well.
