    Greg:

I put all the information into an Excel file. The file contains three worksheets; one for supplies, one for tools, and the last one is "how to."

Note: There are no documents in the Exel file; click on the blue links for pictures and associated documents.

I've attached pictures of the worksheets (below) just to illustrate the layout; I'll post the Excel file next.

Hope that someone finds this helpful.

    BTW: Thanks for your help!

    Ahh Steve, this is excellent.

I've just downloaded the Excel file and have checked out a couple of the links. It's super. Really well done. Fair whack to you for putting it all together. Excellent work.

I particularly like the 2nd option for the Oil Filter wrench. It's actually the tool I have. Upset though to see it for Stg£4.50. I think I dropped Eur€9.99 for mine! :D

Working my way through it all now...... but wanted to post my appreciation.

Thanks again Black - doing engine and gearbox oil today and I knew precisely where to come for the various torque specs for the multiple components.

    Black,
Thanks a million! Am just about to do my first oil change and had been looking exactly for these kind of instructions!

(and to add to the validity: my car is even the same color!)

On an 01 360 Spider, do you have to remove the undertray for an oil change? I can see access holes....are those for both of the oil bots?

My 360 Modena has similar holes. I have been tempted to try an oil change without removing the undertray; however, I have always come to my senses before actually doing it.

I'm pretty sure I would wind up filling the undertray with dirty hot oil and making a real mess. Removing the undertray is a PITA, but I do it anyway.

I don't have a lift. If I did I might try it if I could press up on the undertray and/or cut up a plastic milk bottle to make some shields or hot oil deflectors. But I'm not going to try that on a set of jack stands.

If you give it a try, please report back.

Takes about 15 minutes to remove my undertray, using a floor jack, and wooden blocks under the tires. See Post #6 above if you are interested.

Removing the undertray also allows easy access to the "Oil Suction Fan," which is supposed to be serviced at each oil change.

Sorry for the ignorance but what is the Oil Suction Fan and what is it's purpose?
    Thanks

"Oil Suction Fan"? I never heard it called that. This might be an example of typing after happy hour, I don't know.

In any case, the part shown is the fine mesh screen protecting the engine oil pump from picking up any trash from the oil sump. I check and clean mine every time I change the oil.

The transmission/differential lubrication pump (not the F-1 transmission shifting mechanism pump) has a similar fine mesh screen to protect that lubrication pump. It's more difficult to access and therefore tends not to be cleaned as often (and perhaps never) because you have to remove the rear bumper to remove the screen.

That is the transmission filter ... right ? To remove that, you have to take the back bumper down ... now we are talking a real PITA, not because is hard but it's a real time consuming to re align when put back, anyway it's amazing how much time consuming is to change engine oil/filter and tranny oil/clean filter on these cars !

Actually, no. There's two: One for gear oil, one for engine oil.

You may wish to check the illustrations in Post #6 (above). Also, Post #2 has more illustrations, torque specs, etc.

Below is one of the pictures from Post #6:
