Are you seriously suggesting post crash massa = post crash massa?

Technically speaking, post crash Massa has to = post crash Massa!

(I think you meant to say: "Are you seriously suggesting post crash massa = pre crash massa?")

Are you suggesting someone else. Massa vs FA was clearly FA. Crash or not the stats in the books are all FA and I'm known as a Massa fan. On topic I don't see Kimi besting FA. It might be closer but FA will be first inside Ferrari.

No. I am stating with confidence that the Massa that raced against Kimi,... is not the same Massa that raced against Alonso.

All that said... I want Kimi to beat Alonso. It'll be terrific fun to watch!! Do I think it'll happen? Who knows... But I'm hoping it happens!!

Do I think Kimi is the better driver? I wouldn't go that far. I honestly don't know.

I do know I'd much rather have dinner with Kimi.

I think a lot of people's opinions about Kimi's driving ability are clouded by their personal preference for the guy.

I really don't like Alonso, but he gets things done. Ferrari is his team.

    +1

I love both drivers and rate both highly but I do believe that Fred is the more complete package and hence will beat Kimi. But not by much

Heart says Kimi, and got my vote. Head says Fred though. Same as before.

Certainly something to look forward to! ;)

    I vote Kimi.

Whatever happens, the match up will be worth watching and honestly all I care about is that the silly sports drink cars finish last.

    :)

    Very true.

Interestingly, the #'s remain remarkably close across the two polls; Both have Fred slightly in front.... So seems nobody has changed their mind.....

I voted for Alonso, however I would certainly not be surprised if Kimi came out on top. One thing is for sure, it is going to be very interesting to see the two Ferrari drivers battle it out this year. I just pray the competition stays on the track and the off-track drama(between the two Ferrari drivers) is kept to a minimum. The combination of KR and FA, both first-rate drivers, on the same team should really help Ferrari rack up the points this year.

Hopefully the redesigned car/engine configurations for 2014 will negate Red Bull's current advantage and allow Ferrari to make a competitive run for the constructor's championship this year.

I predict FA will win the 2014 WDC and Ferrari will win the 2014 Constructors' Championship...my fingers are crossed.

Jackie lends his opinion on FA vs Kimi---

"The Scot, 74, added that he felt the eagerly anticipated intra-team battle at Ferrari between Fernando Alonso and the returning Kimi Raikkonen would ultimately go the Spaniard's way.
    Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton is "the fastest driver in the business, just in sheer speed," according to Sir Jackie Stewart

Asked who would score more points over the season, Stewart said: "Probably Fernando. I think he has probably got the best toolkit - up here [his head]."

But he added that Alonso would have to be able to control his emotions on the days Raikkonen was faster than him.

"He will [have a problem with it when Raikkonen beats him]." Stewart said.

"If he allows that to upset him… the one thing I learned is emotion is the most dangerous thing you can have. If you start getting emotional, do things, say things you wish you had never said, behave differently, you make mistakes.

"If you block out something because you got angry, people remember it. It's the same in a car. If you over-drive it, it doesn't talk to you in the same way."

Yup. Done the same. In the other thread I'm sure I voted for Alonso though, but said the same...

Voting for Kimi, he also looks quite relaxed in the couple of video's he's done for Ferrari so far.

Will also add that if Kimi beats Alonso regularly from early in the season, Alonso will go to Mclaren.

I know you've been saying that for a while, but I just can't see it, particularly now that Ron's back in the driving seat.

I could obviously be wrong, (!), but still think the bad blood runs too deep.

    Cheer,

    This.

And Papa Ron said, just after 2007 that he could see Alonso returning to Mclaren at some point.

Possibly, and as we know, memories in F1 are pretty short if 'forgetting' suits the purpose.

But as I've said before, why would he jump to go to a team that's behind anyway?.... Maybe they'll do a good car, either this year or next with Honda, and for sure they'll be back, but his best chance of another title remains in red IMO. This regardless of what Kimi does.

    Cheers,
    Ian

I think it would need to be a real melt-down of some kind this year for FA to leave. I think he would like, as he states to stay at Ferrari to the end of his career. He certainly has options if he does decide to leave the RED team of course!

Till when is Santander on board at Ferrari? ;).

Install Ross > Honda engines > Alonso and Santander will be quite eager to jump along...

He went from a top team to Renault in 2008 and 09. It'll be a strange move if Mclaren performs this year like they did in 2013 for Alonso to go there indeed, but stranger things have happened.

We all know how Alonso gets when he does't get preferential treatment ;). That melt down comes quickly in that case....!

Until at least 2017 according to: Santander extends Ferrari sponsorship

And why would they want leave Ferrari for McLaren? - Worldwide, McLaren carries nothing like cache that Ferrari does.

Personally, I don't buy the whole Ross Brawn to McLaren rumour.

IMO, Ron is far too restrictive in how he allows his staff to operate for Ross to be happy there!

I think Ross and Ron would not mix. They are both very 'alpha'.

Drivers and sponsors want to be on winning cars.

IMO part of the package of being a good driver is knowing or sensing the right time when to jump ship, albeit hopefully into a better team/car, at that present time.

Hamilton of late did this, much to my surprise, Merc has had a better run than Mclaren.

So Mclaren + Ron + Honda could prove to be a good enticement to Alonso, he doesn't strike me to have any loyalties to anyone but himself, all he wants is to increase the size of his trophy cabinet by any means possible, fair or foul.

Redbull has set the standard high to be beaten.
