I read today on the blog of respected BRazilian F1 journalist Fabio Seixas that Kobayashi is in advanced talks with Caterham to drive for them next year. At least the guy is a good driver, and will help with the show. I think it's great news, if it happens.

Nothing is more motivated than a good F1 driver thats been sitting on the sidelines for awhile.
    I hope he gets it.

    Kobayashi better than Kovalainen?

Not quite sure Caterham is on the right track there.

He doesn't really have a choice. Wasted he was dumped from Sauber for financial issues. He's more than an average driver.

Kovalainen has never really done much to really stand out. Sure his teammates have been Hamilton and Alonso. IMO Kobayashi seems about as quick, but he takes bigger risks with overtaking. Something that's needed in F1 and has definitely won him his share in fans. He's pretty damn decent at overtaking too...

Kovalainen is like many: Quick (but not special quick), but then also accepts his fate of ''ok, I'll finish 7th today then...it's points''. Taking the calculated risks etc.

It will be good to have Kamui back in F1 just for the overtaking drama. :)

Kobayashi drives the wheels off the damn car. Regardless of how his talent compares to others, at least he adds excitement. I cant say that for anyother drivers on that team.

He'll be sporting the number 10 this season. Now the cameras have something to pan to at the back of the grid when he dive bombs the Marussias and maybe the STRs.

I agree. Kovalainen was overhyped. Never did anything special, IMO.
