Absolutely breathtaking attention to detail Tim. I signed up just to follow this thread and have made my way from first post to present day over the past week.

    What ups and downs!

Can't wait to see the finished masterpiece. The F40 is such an iconic car, hats off to you for wanting to stick as close to original as possible.

I've returned to the first Post and have been reading through this entire journey with delight.

I've restored a couple of cars, they were far from a Ferrari, but anyone who has done a restoration can relate to all the work it takes to do what Tim is tackling. This is a truly impressive restoration and the work that is being done is really top-notch.

Continue to enjoy the journey Tim.

    Thanks guys.

Manifolds now with Zircotec for finishing so that is delaying us a bit, meanwhile not very photographable work goes on hooking up the electrics etc.

Been following this for some time now and have read it from start to finish and all I can say is 'Wow!'. Fantastic attention to detail - can't wait to see/hear this thing in action.

Is the engine now in place 'for good' or will it be coming out for installation of the manifolds? (I'm not sure how much access/room there is with the engine in - hard to tell from pictures alone)

Yup, engine in for real this time. Here are the finished turbo inlet pipes we fabricated and one of the reasons for the back and forth with the engine.

Gorgeous. This car is just reeking with beautiful industrial art pieces.

Ummm...I suppose that is a matter of one's perspective. It's still mechanical art at it's finest.

I don't think 20000 copies would go close to covering it!!

Sorry guys, not much to offer photographically. Waiting on Zircotec manifolds due back next week, meanwhile all the wiring and plumbing has continued. Once we have those we can carry on with the final assembly of the wastegates etc.

Hi Tim. On page 5 of 91! New to the thread and looking forward to reading every post.

I'm not too far from the garage as I live in Hampton. May pop over to take a look!

Please do so but arrange with Kevin in advance.

Meanwhile, some progress on driveshaft installation and a few other bits to follow.....

Haha, very true! Just edit the video to not show any of the failed start attempts, we all know tiny bugs will need to be worked out and a perfect start the first time is not a 100% sure thing.

    Best of luck!

    Alex
