These recent uploads of YouTube video made me wonder if European Scuds has different cats or ECU maps compare to US spec ones. I don't remember my car shooting flames at any given point. Having said that, I have never put a GoPro like this guy to check either. Anyone know this is normal for all Scuderias?

And here is another one. Both sounds stock.

When you downshift at low revs, the exhaust valves slam shut with the stock exhaust and you miss out on all the nice popping and burbling caused by cold air mixing with hot exhaust gas and unburnt fuel and then burning. With an aftermarket exhaust with no valves, valves permanently open, or downshifting at high revs so the exhaust valves stay open, you will get the popping and burbling and that can often be seen in the exhaust as the unburnt fuel ignites.

I think the video uploader commented, its fully stock exhaust....

I think if you were to get the Capristo remote control valve and leave the valves fully open like what Terry suggested, you might be able to get flames....

PS I got catless pipes installed and sometimes I hear loud popping sounds during downshifts...I guessing it spitting flames at the point of time *I hope*

Guess I'll just have to order a GoPro and figure out myself. :) I've driven around with couple of my friends during evenings and nights but nobody has said anything. Could be because their eyes are bad or I'm not shifting at high RPMs when valves are open.

I did the same setup in my CS. A GoPro3 near the exhaust, and you could see blue flames in the tunnels. It wasn't visible in daylight. Nick's videos are great by the way.

mine spits fire & pops :) stock cats w s-line xx-pipe. Just have to get the car up to temp & the fire show starts, can't really notice it in daytime but at night wawaweewa. And it usually pops fire under hard acceleration or downshifts.

I am pretty sure the Scuderia in US will shoot flames too. I think even F430 can do it. See the killer shots of the F430 in the Miami Vice movie for an example.
