    You're lucky you are still working. Being retired in great when it's nice out. Like I had the time to build the garage for my 308 last spring/summer. Winter, I have things I could do but lack the motivation.

    Are the threads rolled or cut?




    On the X-15 the skin was made out of Inconel X nickel alloy

    Better than titanium for very high temps, also used in very expensive exhausts. In a very thin wall reducing the weight below titanium

    Not a good material for bolts, it is heavy.

    No. It's build as a "movable shed". It has it's own floor/substructure and sits on a bed of crushed stone. Can be jacked onto dollies and moved if desired. It is similar to prefab sheds/garages which are popular in the north east (and probably other places) but structurally superior. See Kloter Farms Shed Sale for examples.

    If I wanted I could pour concrete approach to the correct height. Not a big deal. I just don't want an ugly concrete slap. The ramps are part of the structure just not in place at the time of the picture. Stone could be brought to the correct grade, but stones move/settle thus ramps are better if not pouring concrete.

    Could have bought a "piece of crap" prefab unit for about $8k but I wanted better framing and wanted the roof slope to match that on my house and other garage. Total cost to build was a little over $3k plus my labor/time; about 4 weeks start to finish including site prep, building, roofing, staining and landscaping. plus, I enjoy doing that kind of thing.

    This is perhaps the biggest cash grab in the Ferrari world there is. Shame on those who have wasted money on these things, when there is more then likely a ton of other things in the car needs to be addressed. This should be in the poser thread.

    The people that buy these are the same people that piss and moan about a 250 buck oil change..

    Howie- Nothing on my car needs addressing, so you can give up on the preaching. If your car has something that needs addressing, better get on it. Besides which, who but the owner is going to notice the titanium bolts? Mine are OEM bought for way less than half price, but the HE bolts are good value.

    Titanium wheel bolts are no different from adding carbon fiber, which you likely disapprove of, too. Quite a few pieces of OEM CF added to my car, too.

    I can not see why these would be used on a race car. The star socket head would slow removal and replacement time during tire changes. The reduction in unsprung weight is insignificant compared to the total of wheels, tires, brake disks, calipers, spindles, CV joints, and a proportion of the A-frames and 1/2 shafts. They weigh 2.2 oz while a stock lug weighs 4.5. Total saving per wheel = 11.5 oz. Also, they provide no significant reduction in the rotational moment of inertia, again, when considered with respect to the total MOI of all the other rotating parts of the wheel/brake.

    John- The racing F430s and 458s have center lock wheels, so what is your point? Nobody is changing wheels on the Challenge cars during a race.

    The OEM titanium bolts have a 17 mm Allen head and were stock on the CS, Scud, and 16M.

    Its funny how people like to shoot down some threads just because we may discuss them for a while and have some light chit-chat. I don't get it, oh well I like the lugs and will probably get a set for my 355.

    Who is shooting down the thread? John just gave his opinion and I don't see anything wrong with that. I prefer the OEM or Hill version of the OEM better myself
