    posted on another thread but I can not hold me back ...

    Today I got a treat. I ate the small intestine of pork to the pan with chopped garlic and parsley. You know, That Is the hand near the anus (though clean), and well grilled. It Is a pleasure with a glass of good wine and a piece of homemade bread That morning. It Is a specialty in my area. It's true That we are not far from the perfect spot Where we found The Remains of the Cro-Magnon man, an old ancestor. Here Is What Happens in the pan.

    Tripe soup or Menudo, from Museo de Jamon in Madrid. It's very good!! (Not really the strangest I've eaten, but for a lot it is strange).

    It's maybe not that weird but in Taiwan, live sashimi. The fish is still breathing and moving it's mouth and tail as you pick out parts of it's flesh. The fish was served on crushed ice and kept moving a good ten minutes.

    I know the Museo del Jambon in Madrid, one in which I usually is located in the Calle Major near the Plaza del Sol. The dish you mention is also called "Callos a la Madrilena" and often with chickpeas. If you go to Madrid from time to time, I will give you the addresses of restaurants that are not for tourists which are typical and delicious.

    Exactly. I agree, the best (exotic) foods are usually found at non-tourist sites. We are not going to MAD anytime soon but will keep you in mind if we do.

    For me it would be calves brains, alligator (seemingly common on this thread) and German prepared tripe. It could have been the german restaurant or an off day but the half-baked tripe was still really raw with mustard spread all over...kind of like light and dark yellow mixed to an unholy color of sickly yellow-brown. God offal!

    Live fish...wow!

    I've wanted to try rattlesnake. Anyone here ever have it?

    Okay strange food lovers, gather round. It's the time of year for the annual street fair extravaganza in Evansville: The 90th Westside NutClub Fall Festival The second largest street fair in the USA, behind Mardi GRAS

    This years booths are serving alligator, kangaroo, calf brains, pig brains, bull testicles, snails, crickets, scorpions and other bugs, snake meat and more!

    And being a fair in the US, everything imaginable is deep-fried or has bacon!!

    Tomorrow I will be enjoying this baby to start, a 3 Alarm Buffalo Sauce Spam sandwich

    I forgot to show you a delicacy with which we drink a good Margaux: Lamprey. It is a kind of eel that eats fish, her sisters or corpse, that bled, that removes the skin, it is cut and we cook it very long with leeks. This is delicious even if the animal is nothing particularly exciting when it's alive ... The season has just ended, strongly next year.

    I really want to try Lamb's brain.
    my friends family is having some butchered this summer, i told them to bag up the nasty bits for me.

    One of the best "strange" foods Ive ever had, and love. is Haggis!
    There is a great Scottish Pub in Chester, VT that offers a huge plate of it along with some great beer!

    Someone once buried a whole sheep's head in spent coals after we were done cooking for an army of people. The brain tasted great (it's all fat, how else would it taste?)

    I remember Anthony Bourdain saying that after all the crazy stuff he's eaten all over the world, the most disgusting thing he's ever eaten is a chicken mcnugget, lol.

    Well apparently I have not eaten anything very exotic according to this thread. Some of you are WAY more adventurous than I.

    I have eaten some of more mundane exotic things like aligator, tripe, and yeah even chicken nuggets. ;)

    One thing I supposedly had was porcupine. I say supposedly because I think they were pulling my leg. It was my Grandpas sister and I think it was actually pork. But with her you never really knew, so it is possible.

    Anything like squid? Kind of looks like a gooey squid.

    I had puffed beef tendon with truffle salt the other night. Kind of a play on chicharone. Not my favorite part of the meal but it was interesting.

    I read the menu, it's very nice! Tendons should be delicious.
    Anemones look like sea cucumbers eat Asian but with a much iodized taste. I go fishing for bluefin tuna in the Strait of Gibraltar from July. You're back?
    Whenever I eat something new, I'm afraid of not being able to swallow, but I always swallow and it is often good.
