Oh dear!..... Again, not even I can defend these things!.... Surely, there has to be a better solution to the problem? Cheers, Ian
Here's my render for the RB10: https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/1558411_606426762757528_1714329344_n.jpg
Perfect advertising for penis enlargement manufacturers and/or Durex. Or dildo makers. Just airbrush it a bit... Suppose Lotus can then get sponsored by Vagisil.
I don't know if Ferrari's dolphanteater nose will prove to be the most successful solution for driving, but clearly they are trying to distance themselves from the dildo look of the other cars.
I can't wait for the development race to begin...when they show comparisons it's going to be like a stop-motion video of a penis erection / flaccidity. I know Bernie was seriously looking to get women into F1 but did we have to come to this?
Mercedes seems to have the droops like the Ferrari. However.... look at what I assume are the suspension location points. Unique. Image Unavailable, Please Login
All these noses are looking pretty damn goofy. The f14 is looking pretty clean now IMO. Also, I know the regs are concernded about the cross section, but seeing all these spear like noses seems pretty counter to the idea of safety. I can't wait til the first time one of these noses "spears" the side of a car or takes out someones rear tire on a grid start.
The suspension points appear in traditional location per a prior teaser pic, a huge difference however is in that the steering rod is essentially parallel to the upper leading a-arm mounting point.
Least it'll only break his ankles, not rip his nuts off like before..... [OK, slight exaggeration there ] Cheers, Ian
But, it'll tend to go 'underneath', rather than straight into the guys head. Also remember, these things are designed to crumple (brings tears to my eyes!) in an impact. Note I'm trying to defend the horrible looks, rather just what they're trying to do. I recall saying a while 'we'd get used to 'em', but this is starting to look like a joke. Cheers, Ian
These noses are nothing short of awful. If I was on the rules and specifications committee I would be looking into ways to push the designs back to something more attractive. I get part of it is based on safety regulations. This is a visual sport and based on the launch images, the noses, and therefore the cars themselves, are not looking good. -F
Beautiful car other than the schnoz. The TR is particularly "phallic" as someone else noted. Ugliest F1 cars ever by a pretty wide margain. I am confident the rules will address for next year though so no biggie
+1 my initial reaction was positive but now its shifting negative. Ferrari so far are the best looking car.
With such a drastic difference between the Ferrari and the field I hope Maranello is in to something and not missing the ball.
To quote Sgt Schultz from Hogan's Heroes, and with the chance of a new nose impacting a rear tire, I'm thinking the first corner in Australia will be "verrrry interesting".
I think that's a legitimate concern. I'm starting to wonder if the FIA will deem it "illegal" given Ferrari's very different interpretation of the rules vs everyone else. (note: I'm VERY thankful they are interpreting the rules differently though). Just adds to the high drama of F-1 in 2014...
