I can't believe I'm going to say this...but...I kinda like the RB10 (real one not my silly render)...sorry, can't share the pic but all I can say is the RB10 nose will be wide.

I'm pretty sure the Ferrari nose complies with the FIA regulations so can't be deemed illegal.

There may be some queries about the Ferrari nose in the same vein as the questions being asked about the Lotus "twin prong" style nose, i.e: Not about whether the concept complies with the technical regulations, but is it in keeping with "The spirit of the regulations"?, but I doubt the FIA will ban it! - In fact, if the FIA have any sense they'll declare all of the sex-toy style noses illegal out of common decency and good taste if nothing else!

Some of these nose appendages look highly vulnerable to being snapped off! (the Torro Rosso looks to be so flimsy it actually looks to Me as if it's designed to snap off at the slightest contact so that the car can then run with a 2013 style high nose!).

This leads to an interesting question, if the nose appendage is snapped off at any time, will the FIA demand that a new nose cone must be fitted immediately? - Or will cars be allowed to run with the nose appendage missing?

Didn't think F1 cars could get uglier, but didn't think anyone would actually put a penis on the front of one. Unbelievable.

I did not think it was possible for racing cars to be less visually appealing than the Indy cars, I guess I did not give F1 the credit it deserves as the "pinnacle" of motor racing. These monstrocites along with Adrian Sutil's warning this week that the critical factor will be fuel management like endurance racing make me pine for the early 2000s when the drivers could run flat out and the cars were beautiful. Maybe the Bernie knew what the cars would look like and that is why Bahrain is another night race, think of the product tie ins with Viagra, Cialis and Trojan. Forza Ferrari!

Probably camera mounting pods. F14T have similar, though Merc's already being compared to 2008 Honda, aka Dumbo :)

Saw that also. Used to be the norm to line up the steering rod with upper wishbone to minimize bump-steer, but recent trend has been to site the steering part way between upper and lower for aero reasons.

McLaren have done similar, I think, though hard to tell if steering is in line with upper or lower wishbone.

That was a really great joke that no one else seemed to pick up on. :D

If the RB10 ends up having a similar nose, I can only imagine the name Seb will give to his car after previous examples of 'Kate's Dirty Sister', 'Kinky Kylie' and 'Hungry Heidi".

The FIA will have a hard time having to blur out the footage of the noses as the cars go 'round. ;) F1 banning tobacco sponsors, but okay with this atrocity and then slap on ads for Durex, Trojan, Viagra, etc. hahahaha

It's normally the edges of the wing that takes out tires. And even that doesn't happen *that* often. The nose is too rounded off for serious penetration.

Red Bull, Merc and Ferrari have ''similar'' noses (well, RB still to reveal). Interesting that the top 3 teams of last year have gone with something similar .

James Key has said that early on for their development with the STR9 they did a similar nose to Lotus drawing, but abandoned it quickly. He also mentioned if really is within the spirit of the rules. Specifically mentioned he doesn't think it's illegal.

Anyone remember the Durex sponsored Surtees?

I was on that team, and left a couple of 'anoraks' in the closet at my mums place one time.... Came back home only to discover that she'd very carefully removed said sponsor logos from said anoraks!... She literally unstitched the 'patches' from them!

I guess 'offense' can be caused in many unintended ways. :(

    Cheers,
    Ian

MBZ may have the best looking car on the grid there. We will see...

The disappointing part about them not using what some term the 'finger nose' design it there will be no chance for jokes about whether Lewis' W05 nose was bigger than Nico's. :D

I think you need to look at it again. Hard to tell from this angle with certainty, but there is something on the end of the nose.
