Bas Jaski hates Grosjean for some reason, but yes I agree with you. He impressed me last year even though I AM still mad at him for costing Alonso the 2012 title.

So let's see, tiny logo on McLaren or just about whole car on Lotus ... and let's face it the Lotus has been a good car.

Sony would surely go Lotus, surely ... especially as the Walkman days are over.

I'd take a postage stamp size decal on an actual car over a full body logo on a car that doesn't make it to race one.

Why? Out of curiosity what special thing did he do at Lotus?

Maybe nothing other than I felt he may be better than Dominicali.

IMO usually large corporations do Not want to affiliate themselves with ones that are in financial problems.
So I don't see Sony and Lotus but rather McLaren and Lotus.
Plus Japanese companies tend to band together remember Panasonic Toyota
Once Honda is on board Then I think Sony may join McLaren as well

He was head of a team that had great results considering their budget size was small compared to others up front

Technically speaking they had an unlimited budget for a while ;).

But yes, he has done good things at that team overall. Coincidentally, Mclaren seems to be heading into the same direction. They're not flush with cash as they used to be anymore.

I find this interesting. Do they not understand Motorsport? While I am sure McLaren has been talking themselves up and will improve but Lotus have the better car, or did last year.

I'd rather put money there and see what they could do with some decent backing. Might start a brilliant and successful relationship. Now of course if all the brains in Lotus have already left then what a shame ...

And yes I'm a McLaren fan but I don't see or understand wanting to band together with other companies ... That to me shows lack of guts and you are just playing follow the leader.

But yes McLaren is the boring accountants view of the world, but Lotus, if still a team of substance, is the entrepreneurs selection.

Sad state of affairs when Mclaren has to battle a much smaller team for a title sponsor. McLaren should have a waiting list; but they have really screwed it up recently.

I don't know but i feel that's the credit to the drivers and the team, not to Eric.

I've think you have miss understood me. I meant why Sony and other Japanese companies want to stick together and sponsor the same car?

    Oh, I get it.

Well, Panasonic and Toyota, Nissan and Clarion, Mazda and Renown... I suppose that Japanese fans tend to be more interested in Japanese cars so maybe it makes sense from a marketing point of view aiming at the Japanese market. A McLaren-Honda would be seen as somewhat Japanese too (and the Honda PR machine is going to work hard to maximize the Honda and minimize the McLaren in the McLaren-Honda).

But it´s only an uneducated guess.

So your saying Team principle is an useless position and a group of 400 people can lead themselves to success ?

Pretty good interview - certainly better than the one Peter Windsor managed.
