I saw that car on ebay and thought the same thing. Those are easily removed though.

I like this color combo and if that car sells for under 40K and it doesnt have any other stories, that is nice find for someone.

On the history it has had 1500 miles put on it in 8 years ?????

There are some better quality pics on the dealers site:

    http://www.dvorakmotors.com/bismarck-nd/1997-ferrari-f355-529902410.htm

Has sticky issues and that drivers seat looks terrible, but all that can be fixed. Its missing that engine trim panel on the right and no mention of keys and fobs but all in all looks like a nice car for $40K.

Probably not much foot traffic on it in Bismarck, ND :)

It is correct as the car can only go in reverse or it is so fast the speed scooted the magnets to the rear from incredible power!

    What are those stickers hiding?

That car has met the reserve several times...yet, it's still for sale.

What do you mean? Prior auctions?

It is just a tad below the BIN now. I don't get that, why sit there and bid 38 and change when you can be done with it at 40? I wouldn't by this car this way myself, just commenting on the process here now.

It's been listed on ebay for months and has met the reserve several times. It must have problems.

If that's all that is wrong, sounds like a good deal, especially if it drives without any issues.

I just spoke with the seller. They are absolutely clueless about Ferraris. They bought it from a local boat dealer who took it on trade for a boat and offered it in some type of auction. It has zero service history, nada, zip, nothing. They haven't done an engine out and they were told by someone who looked that its most likely original belts. Original headers.

I educated him on the shields, he had no idea and I suggested he remove them and he said he may. LOL

Has one key, one fob and he's going to look around for manuals, he didnt know for sure that they did or didnt have them.

    The top doesn't work.

It sold on two previous ebay auctions but the winning bidders just no showed payment wise. His story.

One could find out the original selling dealer with the VIN and maybe at least get some early service records for it.

Kind of a real leap of faith to buy a car like that from North Dakota in the winter, sight unseen, but for someone who can get their arms around all of the missing info, at that price it may be a good deal.

I believe this is the same car listed in Dallas a year or so ago. A PPI was done at Norwood in Dallas and numerous problems were found. If I remember correctly, 10-15k repair suggested to get it correct again. It is also still listed here, this is the original add.

cuz someone (;) who knows what the reserve is bids it up just below the reserve and waits/hopes for another bidder to go that $100 more. Auctions by dealers on ebay are such BS

That's a really great color combo. For $40k, looks to be a good deal even if it needs some work.

I received this back from whoever is running the eBay auction:

dealer trade in, selling it for the dealer, no records, books, tools, fobs, 2 owners, mechanically inspected, no leaks, no repairs needed, that's it

Funny how the autocheck on the auction had 7 title transfers. Two owners?

This is why there are 40k cars and lower sold at auctions. You can buy them cheap and spend 15-20k making them right or buy them out together for more.

I forgot to ask if this car has the conv boot. As the top doesn't work and I don't see it in any pictures, it may be missing. Another $1500.
