    Leoville las Cases, one of my favorite Bordeaux. Worth looking for a 20+ yr old vintage as those wine tend to substantially develop with age.

    New Elmer T Lee Single Barrel Bourbon, special bottling by Binny's (hand picked barrel by their whiskey guys). Just picked it up last weekend and it's without a doubt the best bourbon under $30 ($29) I think I've ever had. It's pure candy. A definite sweetness, with lots of character. I would imagine the regular ETL Single Barrel Bottle is pretty close to what I've got. Try it!

    I bought 3 bottles of the 2007 CAB at a charity auction. drank one and have the other two sleeping for a while. Do the winemakers have a suggested drinking window/ maturity for the '07 ? Very good bottle and I'm thinking good now probably has 5 years ahead of it? Can confirm??

    Did this last night, with candied chestnuts (a once a year thing for us):

    Glazed Chestnuts - La Maison du chocolat

    This year's batch had a bit too much of what tasted like lavender. If you like chestnut based sweets, this stuff is heaven.

    Just finished my bottle of Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength. 55.3% alcohol, so you want to sit down before drinking. It is one of the few single malts I'll cut with a little spring water; it develops a great taste of the charred barrels, toffee & apples with the water. It is an all-around great whisky, although one you may want to work up to if you aren't used to the Islay brands.
