Rosberg has done 36 laps so far today without problems. The Merc team may be running their first race simulation today.

Alonso has just posted his first time of the day, 1.39.999.

Ferrari not blipping throttle= less fuel consumption during race. It is far too early to tell who is fast as these first rounds are all about mileage and reliability.

Lol. Long season-I have a feeling Renault will sort their problems out sooner rather than later. I suspect we will see a much different result at the next test.

    :)

Who says you can't take tin snips to an F1 car these days!?.....

That's nasty!.... You think someone could have found a can of flat black somewhere...... Ron would have a heart track. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

    11. Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull-Renault 1m45.374s +17.145s 7

    Forza Felipe! :)

Renault seems to be in a world of trouble!.... Even the few laps they did manage were, I strongly suspect, without any ERS. They're *miles* off.....

Maybe as someone suggested, Fauxtus didn't miss a whole lot. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

They're even worse of because Lotus isn't there to give them any feedback.

Lotus is missing loads...see how many issues teams had on monday/tuesday even getting their cars sorted because of suspension mountings, engine fittings and all that...if Lotus even decides on having their car ready in Bahrain they'll have the same problems.

I'd rather do 4 laps in 4 days and get the car at least sorted out a little so that in Bahrain you can run full time mostly, rather than find that all out in Bahrain.

Lotus are well and truly ****ED.

I agree, they're certainly 'behind the 8 ball' as they say.....

Autosport have just reported that both Marussia & Lotus' entries are now confirmed however. (Remember they were listed as 'subject to confirmation' in the original entry list).

I guess they'll show up in Bahrain and pop & bang their way around for a few laps, same as the other Renault runners have this week. OTOH, Renault have said they'll share all possible data with all their partners, so maybe they really didn't miss much, other than heartache! ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Perhaps our predictions of a Merc v. Ferrari battle for this year may come to fruition?

Ferraripilot's sources on the Merc engine were spot-on. They have their crap together early in the game...all of their teams had good weeks at Jerez.

Ferrari's engine is working very well...in the Ferrari. The other teams have had some troubles during the week, but NOTHING like the Renault unit.

There's certainly time for them to pull things together, but I wonder if the need is a fundamental structural change in the cars or significant alteration in the power unit? I'd have to imagine that either way the vehicles the teams designed will be somewhat compromised. I don't think Red Bull can leave their car unchanged and somehow the Renault engine is adapted to it.
