Newey has designed some terrible cars in the past, his due to make another dog. F166T would have been a lot cooler as it pays tribute to the 166MM and follows traditional Ferrari nomenclature. I think Alonso played a part in the final results. 14 will be his number next year. The Speciale may end up being a lot more Speciale than most realize as Ferrari turns away from N/A for the 'normal' road cars in favor of turbo charging. I've heard the new 'California' and it sounds great to me though.
Don't forget to vote for Joe as Ferrarichat ambassador of the year 2013 in February when the poll starts.
When a new formula is introduced, necessitating a new car, history says the more talented team continues to win. When Porsche dominated endurance racing in the '70s, the FIA kept changing the rules to try and even the playing field by forcing the design of new cars. Porsche kept winning, as they had the best race designers and engineers. Hope this season proves that the Scuderia is the best team.
I was tempted to join you Ed, but went back home and flushed my brake fluid instead. Looks like your afternoon was more fun.
Great FOG rally and breakfast in Marin, organized by Joe Keon. Wonderful meal at Nick's Cove in Marshall. Scenic curvy roads. Thanks Joe. Inviting, isn't it? This is a fantasy FOG drive -- would take 6.5 hours to get to it -- but the next 60 miles past this point are superb. Line of sight is like this much of the way Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just avoid after that road after dark if you don't want to wake up in the Alpha Centauri star system... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey I'm game Maybe late Spring -- we can get a carrier to haul the cars out and spare them the miles. There are actually a few stretches along the way to this launch point that are pretty spectacular. The first is at 3 hours 35 minutes.
A carrier to haul the cars? I'm driving!! Will meet you there!!! I'm not gonna be one of those guys on the deathbed saying "I wish I'd have driven the Ferrari more and polished it in the garage less." Ha ha!!
To quote another member here (Napolis), "Not putting miles on your Ferrari is like not having sex with your girlfriend so that she will be more desirable to her next boyfriend."
I'm a little ashamed. Only 36,500. I did put 18,000 of those on myself. But that's still only 3,000 per year.
I think we need a bigger showing of Ferrari's at the Blackhawk Cars & Coffees. This coming Sunday February 2nd. The other marques are showing up in big numbers, and we should all get together there this Sunday. You need to get there by 7:30am if you want a chance of a decent spot to show your car.... Hope to see more of my Ferrari Owners Group there this Sunday !!!
