Feb 22 or Mar 15 is good weekend for us. March 16 is first F1 race; not sure what broadcast is available.

I'd vote for Mar 15th, selfishly because better chance for weather to be nicer, and Fredericksburg is perfect motorcycle-distance for me.

March 15-16 sounds good for Marilyn and I and our 182. The Hanger Hotel sounds geat and we will make it, but just to muddy the water I would like to recommend Port Aransas KRAS about 100nm south of Fredricksburgh and great seafood and fishing with a beach. KRAS is a nice airport that puts you within 2 miles of town. The island taxi will take you anywhere in town for 5 dollars. Tarpon Inn is a historic hotel in town and very quaint. I also know of a flying hotel owner in town that has a car at the airport and a aviation themed hotel. Marilyn and I will be in Fredricksburg but Port Aransas is really special.

So what's the official-type word? I have to arrange for vacation for the Friday, regardless of weekend.

I'm a little out of pocket now Terlingua. This would be great fly-in except rock strip. I think we can go ahead and set date March 14-16.

That's wild, we were up at the old part, left Monday morning.

Tillman said rooms mostly booked 14-16th, so must already be an event. When I get back next week I will try to pinpoint a better date.

I'm going to work on this next couple days to nail a date.

    Some options and comments...

    2/21-23 - good for us

    2/28-3/2 - good for us

3/14-16 - good weekend for many, but hotel already has big group there, might be limited on rooms.

4/18-20 - DFW Pilots group trip, I'm testing waters if we can piggy back with them. Tillman and I are members there, several know Russ. Reason I like this idea is it will make for a larger group than just 5-10 people if we keep it AviatorChat only.

Fredericksburg is MILF central, just get yourself a big belt buckle and a cowboy hat and you will be fine.

Hangar Hotel said first two dates I gave we could get a block, last two already pretty booked. Still researching that April date for piggy back with DFW Pilots. Looks like middle March weekend out, which Tillman already figured out.

well, it was never a problem in the past, but Hangar Hotel has a strict no kids policy, so I told them to **** off.

That is a crazy policy. Isn't there a Hangar type Hotel at Meacham or someplace up there?

If you guys want to come to Dayton, I can get us a tour of the USAF Museum (Amazing!!) and you can come out to the Aerodrome. Would recommend flying into Greene County (I19), and there is an inexpensive hotel ON BASE (It even has a bar and grille) that I think I can get you into as a group, or a pretty inexpensive one right across from the USAF Museum. There are also all of the Wright Bros. sites, like the bicycle shop and Huffman Prairie Flying Field. Happy to put this together.

It has been a while since I checked in on aviatorchat, but I may interested in flying in to meet you guys. Fredericksburg is fantastic. My wife and I try to go there a few times a year. Easter is on 4/20 and our weekend is a bit busy, but we may be able to fly out and meet for lunch.

Glad to see you are still alive.

I'm gonna be in San Antonio in that time period and may try to make a trip out to Fredricksburg.
